Well, yes Ed Earl kept saying something like "ring, ring" because the harasser (she) kept calling the wrong citizen. Poor thing, she is no Jessica Fletcher, even though she is very, VERY feminine.

sir i can't speak for everyone else on this board but for me this has nothing to do with politics. Comparing "coming out" as a moderate conservative to coming out as a homosexual is nothing short of offensive. I spent years of my life under constant hatred and abuse because of my sexual orientation, hell I was almost disowned from my family. And to come on hear and make comparisons and make some, quite honestly, homophobic statements is truly revolting. So I'm just going to get this off my chest now.

Whether or not your a moderate conservative, your a goddamn piece of s^&t who has no respect for anything or anyone, you come on to these boards to do nothing more than get people angry, not fight for some sort of political stance. Your political stance is fifty years backwards, your descended from the same jackasses who called the Civil Rights movement of the 20th century a communist movement straight out of Russia. The people on this board accept each other for who they are, and you come to this board and s#@t all over that and when people call you on it, you say its some sort of attack by people who have different views. Yes, generally people attack hate mongers. Because that's who you are. You are a hate monger.

Someone on the Board ("The Queen") seems to think that forcing someone out of their (political) closet is a triumph.

I would think that the BWW community would understand the whole coming out thing.

Why would someone brag about forcing someone out of their closet?

Count A - I don't give a damn about your politics. I'm straight, so am not offended personally by your clearly purposeful inflammatory use of the term "Coming Out." I'm all for free speech and letting any idiot, moron, or boob say whatever it is they want to say.

What I AM against, though, is intentional rabble-rousing and insult. Your use of the term "coming out" is exactly that. It's intended to piss people off, and what it really does is make you and any valid point you may hope to have immediately null and void. You want to be a conservative talking head? Go right ahead. You want to even try to get rational people to see your point of view? Knock yourself out. But do it in a way that doesn't invite scorn or insult.

Your attitude is precisely why this country can't move forward politically - why nothing positive ever seems to get accomplished. There are far too many people (on both sides of the aisle) who rather than have an actual debate would rather piss the other side off.

The line of free speech is crossed when you start hurting other people, and that's exactly what you've done.

I tend more to the 'keep your friends close, and your enemies closer' type of approach. I think it's a good reminder that this type of thought process exists, and has to be dealt with.

I still don't quite understand why and how it seems to be affecting people so negatively. Perhaps because I'm immersed in it in my daily life, I find it easier to let it roll off my back.

And honestly, when I think of my desire to just be allowed to exist as the gay man I am - in spite of whatever discomfort or unease some might experience - I have a hard time turning around and desiring removal of something or someone, simply because I don't like it.

Well, it's been a few months.

Obama is now into cutting spending.

Not much else has changed. Gitmo is still open, and there are still a lot of tax cuts for the rich.
