re: Creationists Lose Control of Kansas Board of Education

What about those huge drawings in fields in South America that can only be fully appreciated from the air? How did the ancients do that? They hadn't got helicopters.
The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

Did you know that you can make Rapt Nepp from the letters in Peter Pan? Hasn't that fact just made your day?

I have that effect on people. My doctor says if I take my pills it'll go away, but because I'm making so many people happy I stopped taking them.

Anyone that suggests the Bible would make a nice bedtime story clearly hasn't read it.

I agree with what others have said; I'm Christian and I think creationism has no business being taught in public schools as science.

I went to a private catholic school so sience we learned "And god created evolution... And god created the dinosaurs"

I think the Bible is one big pile of.. not really hypocritical, but just not right.

I mean, it says we shall not read about murder, sex, etc, yet it's filled with it.

I once knew a guy who wouldn't read SNOW FALLING ON CEDARS because of the sex scenes.

I think the bible teaches good lessons (Love thy neighbor ect ect...) But some people take it too far! THey make embarressed to be catholic! I curse, I watch r rated movies, but WHAT is important is i treat everyone w/ respect and love, Like they say to

And if sex before marriage is a mortal sin and all that, what the hell did Adam and Eve do, just sit there and wait for a random baby to burst out? If that story is true then all the world is a group of inbreds.

There are really radical Muslims who give the whole of Islam a bad name, that sucks for them too.

I think it's just some people have the "pick and choose" syndrome - where they pick some rules to follow and choose to forget about others.

I can't tell you how many men, and women, in Bonham, TX cheat on their spouses. Yet they tell me I can't marry my boyfriend?

WTF?

re: Creationists Lose Control of Kansas Board of Education

No joke intended here, but was that boyfriend thing a joke or was it serious? No problems either way with me, just wondering.

Aren't there some states where you can get married? Not sure, I wouldn't know, but I thought there were.

I hate how george bush says that gay marriage is banned because of religon, but doesn't the same religon say "Treat others the way you want to be treated?" "Love thy neighbor?"
I think it's a bunch of bull

re: Creationists Lose Control of Kansas Board of Education

The UN Convention of Human Rights says that everyone has the right to choose their own religion etc, so isn't it time 'In God we Trust' is taken out of US Politics? And isn't it time Bush stops 'protecting the Sang - Sant - Sanctity of marriage and thinks about the real problems in the world, most of which he has helped to create or helped to grow?

re: Creationists Lose Control of Kansas Board of Education

I have no problem with "under God we Trust" because I view God as a symbol, and not a real being.

God is anyone, or anything, who watches over you and (you hope) will protect you and guide you.

re: Creationists Lose Control of Kansas Board of Education

What if I wanted it to be 'In Buddha we trust' or 'In Allah we trust'? The former would be laughed at and the latter would land me in Guantanamo Bay.
