I doubt there is going to be a huge drop for Archuleta. His single premiered long after the finale of American Idol (when Cook's single debuted), and the song is getting a LOT of play on the mainstream radio stations.

Having just seen both Davids tonight. I have to say that I think David A's popularity will fade quickly. David Cook has the personality and talent to hang around for awhile. The man is amazingly talented and commands the stage.

Archie has an all-around good voice and a teeny bopper fan base, but his communication style is PAINFUL! Maybe it is too much for one young kid, but he is fairly inarticulate.

I don't see a problem in both doing well, but I feel that Archie's fan base will fade eventually. Cook's could endure.

The chart positioning thing is a little deceiving...kinda like when people on the Broadway board talk about the gross being more important that the percentage of seats sold.

David A did indeed top David C's Hot 100 chart position, but "Crush" did so on a less competitive week than when "Time of My Life" did. "Time" sold 236,000 downloads its first week out as opposed to DA's 166,000.

Kinda apples and oranges, but let's see if DA is still doing well with the song three months from now. "Time of My Life" is still a Top 40 download and has sold over 700,000.

I've heard that "Time of My Life" song quite a bit, and I like it (except for the magic rainbow line...ugh).

I heard the Archuleta one the other day and it's not really my style of music but he sounded ok.

David Cook's jeans are very cute too. Time of My Life was also used for an Olympic montage which is a big deal.

And Stockard --- funny you mentioned the magic rainbow line --- even David Cook dislikes this line. Clearly, this isn't the type of song he wants to sing, but he does so very well.

He is kinda cute though!!! One of the guys on Canadian Idol sort of reminds me of him a little bit.

Clever-do you remember when we were comparing them during the AI season? It was sort of agreed Cook was dirty and greasy looking, but there was a faction here who said they were into that! I was referring to that!

David A. is a little to cutesy wootsy for me. I'd pick David Cook. Plus isn't David A. like 16? Ewww.
