But meatball subs are soooo delicious, too!
Oh, and regarding your "Official Baking Thread":
I too made my first eclairs after seeing that movie! :)
(which, unfortunately isn't very good...)

The movie sucks, but it has Betty Buckley, which makes it a little better than if it was someone else.
And Patricia Clarkson reminds me of Cate Blanchett.
I really want to make eclairs now. I just need a good recipe. I'm thinking of going to the Williams Sonoma store and copying down a recipe from their desserts book.

I'd send you a recipe but it's in European measures which would make it hard for you to convert...
One more thing I liked about the movie was the song "Once In a Blue Moon". Really cute song!
But yes, it sucks...

Remember:
French's mustard
Pickles
Cheese slice
Let the cheese melt before you dig in.

Oh my! Sloppy Joes are GOOOOD!
When I tried the meat sauce I thought "Well, that tastes a little like ground beef with ketchup..." but on a bun it's DELICIOUS!

Aren't they?!?! I still MUCH prefer them homemade, sans canned goods, but...one gets what one can!
See...we weren't kidding when we said sloppy!!!

Oh yes, they were sloppy all over my face!
And I too think that a homemmade sauce would taste even better...
I'll try that within the next days, too! And I have another can. Ehehe!

Not to dis your Joe, but it looks like there's a worm trying to escape.
I'm glad you enjoyed them!

Yes, I noticed that, too!
But worms make every dish so much more juicy!
I think there should be a new rule to this board that every user has to send me at least ONE traditional American product...

#162describe a 'sloppy joe'
Posted: 8/12/06 at 6:32pmWhat other American foods do you not have?
#163describe a 'sloppy joe'
Posted: 8/12/06 at 6:37pm
Well, I've never been able to find Twinkies in Germany...
There are some stores that have quite the big assortment of American food but I've never seen Twinkies anywhere besides on the stage at the "Blue Man Group" in Berlin!
Maybe we should make this a "Trading Thread"...
You guys will send me American Food and I'll send you German stuff!
I couldn't live without PopTarts btw...

I've never liked poptarts.
Ever.
What about cereals? Do y'all have Fruit Loops, Cocoa Puffs, etc???
#165describe a 'sloppy joe'
Posted: 8/12/06 at 7:09pmOMG, I eat Strawberry or Cinnamon pop tarts every single morning when I go to work. LOVE THEM!

Oh, we are quite well equipped in the cereal departement!
Though we don't have those Oreo O's...
Are they as good as the cookies?
#168describe a 'sloppy joe'
Posted: 8/12/06 at 7:12pmNo, they ARE NOT! They are actually quite nasty!

Posted: 8/12/06 at 7:56pmBack before I swore off soda, I remember Dr Pepper being quite difficult to find in Europe.
