She said, "This is the corniest thing I've ever done." I wouldn't call that nasty. And she later lampooned that incident when she hosted SNL so at least she had a modicum of humor.

Miss P, I do agree. Whether or not she is a nice person, it's still awful that her brother murdered her father. That's a tragic event for anyone.

It's funny when you think about it. It's so easy to feel compassion and sorrow for someone we all think is "nice," but when it's someone everyone pretty much despises, it's hard to sympathize.

I guess I'm feeling sorry for her now because she is (by all accounts) a miserable person, and this is not going to improve her disposition. Or maybe it will, who knows? Maybe it'll be a wake-up call.

Still, pretty sad.

The funniest part of the whole thing was her hosting SNL. It was horrible. "Now this is REALLY corny." Man, it was bad.

Perhaps this grim family situation is indicative of a difficult upbringing or mental illness in the family. I'm not making excuses for her bad behavior, but it could shed some light on her troubled demeanor. I don't know.

Miss Pennywise, I sort of feel the same thing. This new turn of events might shed some light on a troubled family which helped form her into the despised miserable person she is today. Some people are born nasty, some have the potential which is nurtured by those around them.
Jane you should photoshop some Kale between those teeth!

In the spirit of full disclosure, I have never liked her, felt she was cold and elusive, and thought her an ingrate who didn't appreciate her fame, talent or supporters. (I also thought she was a great big cry-baby whiner.) Of course, I've never met her, so my entire opinion is based on the "reports" of others.

But it's really making me think about how I can judge someone I don't really know and then have a hard time feeling compassion for this person who has just experienced what appears to be a horrible tragedy.

I mean, the other day when I found out Kate McGarrigle died, I was in tears. I've been listening to her albums and reading all these tributes to her and just weeping. Today, I read about this truly terrible occurrence and I was like "That's what she gets for f*cking with Mickey Mouse." It's cruel! But I'm being honest!

Oh good grief, GMA is promoting this story as the Kerrigan "curse"!

That being said, I have always found Nancy cold, aloof, and walking around with a sense of entitlement during her competition days.

Tonya Harding had her rep release an official statement to The Insider about Nancy Kerrigan and the loss of her father:

"Tonya feels very sad for Nancy and her family and extends her deepest sympathy and condolences to them. Tonya's beloved dad, Al Harding, passed away this April, so she understands the grief Nancy and her family are feeling at this time."

As for Tonya, it's also interesting how she seems to come out as the "good one", the "underdog" if you will (I hate that phrase), simply because Nancy comes off as such a bitch.

I found myself rooting for Tonya after the knee incident because I disliked Nancy so much.
