Well, since a tampon is a little bit bigger than a fly .... I mean, really, you can imagine a fly being overlooked by a waiter, but a tampon??????

Sorry, I have never mistakenly put anything in my mouth without looking.... oh wait, there were those couple times when I was blindfolded but hey, that's a different story entirely!

EEEEWWWWWW-did anyone watch the video? I think they gave him the metal vial at the hospital.
Now I'm not so sure it's a scam, since they didn't say it was IN his steak, but in with his food. Like in the spinach?
Some sick food preparer, maybe.
#33re: Dining at the Waldorf?
Posted: 7/15/09 at 4:16pmIs a joke about him asking for a bloody steak inappropriate?

#35re: Dining at the Waldorf?

First off, is it human blood on the thing? Secondly if there was a foreign object in your food would it actually make it to your mouth? I mean come on. Don't you have to look to scoop up your food?
I seriously doubt this is real. Scammers come in all shapes and sizes. I am sure that if it were a disgruntled kitchen worker the Waldorf would have tarred and feathered him in front of television cameras by now. It is hard to be that disgruntled without you co workers being aware.

And the guy said he was chewing and trying to swallow it!?!!??
How long does it take to recognize that you're not chewing on food?
I'm befuddled. no comments.

Posted: 7/15/09 at 4:54pmIf the tampon was IN the steak then it must have been cooked. Wouldn't the heat sterilize the blood?

That one's even better, Jordan!
#40re: Dining at the Waldorf?
Posted: 7/15/09 at 4:55pmExactly Jane. If you had a tampon in your mouth you would know it wasn't food right away! The article says the doctor cut it apart and said "Yes that is a tampon!" What the tell tail string wasn't enough?

Well he's clearly NOT able to tell the difference in texture between a piece of meat and an f'in tampon.

Okay, if it was in the guy's spinach, how was the spinach prepared? We're all assuming that it was the typical steamed spinach. However, this is the Waldorf and the vegetable could have been creamed and served with almonds or even mushrooms.
I still don't know if the guy's trying to pull off a scam. I'm trying to see both sides.

I have never seen an almond the size of a tampon.
