I don't mean to sound too bold but I know I'm one of THE best actresses/singers in my "company" but because I can't dance it's like my director has no respect... Also, it seems that if you give this director a hard time you get what you want in the long run. I'm not a pushy person and don't like pushing the director around. I'm on his good side but not on his "Top List of Actors" which really pisses me off because I'm much better than a lot of those push overs. Should i try pushing him or just keep coasting in the background?

Don't bother pushing him. His mind's made up, and considering the competitive and political nature of the biz, I'm sure his favorites are up on the top list not just because of their talent but because they just jive better. If you're not satisfied coasting in the background, you best find a new company.
Let me assure you, not possible. I'm in high school. don't have time after school to go parading around town. And also. This group is my best bet. they've got all the connections with the big theatres and all the greatest props. they've got they;re money down and what money they need they make in fundrasing. All i have to do is play my cards right... but right now my hand sucks.
Also, thing is Type_A_Tiff, i AM what he wants, what he needs.. he just... I dont know.. wrote me off or something. I just need him to give me a chance.
I think that you should just work really hard, make sure that he has to notice you. Do you have a chamber group? Join that, do choruses and onstage theatre outside of school if you can. Just work... that's all you can do. Sucking up can only go so far (if you wish to steep that low). But just make sure you don't give attitude. Let's put it this way: if you deserve and earn it, then he has to put you up there. And if there are other people judging you during auditions, make sure you do the best you can (practice!)

I don't doubt that you're what he needs - what I'm saying is it's not just about skill or talent. If your personalities don't match, or if he just doesn't like you, than pushing him and pushing him is just going to piss him off more. I didn't realize this was a high school company - I thought it was community theatre - if you're in the position where you HAVE to stay, then I would suggest letting things rest for a while, coast in the background, work your ass off and hope that he, or better yet, someone in one of those prestigious theatres you're referring to, notices you, and appreciates you for all that you have to offer, skill, personality and otherwise.
Keep in mind... if you are one of THE best ... then dancing shouldn't play that big of a factor. Annie Get Your Gun doesn't have extensive dancing for Annie... Les Mis has no dancing for Fantine or Eponine... it is very possible to have a show without the dancing. Maybe mention that to him, but subtly. Otherwise... go with what Type-A-Tiff

ok thanks a bunch... see my director is like.... Simon Cowell HAHA thanks though!
Seriously, screw your director. As long as you're still getting cast in the shows, that's all you can really concern yourself with. When you're on stage, just work your ass off, start networking with professional theatre people who come to see the show, and schmooze and dazzle. It's as much about schmoozing as it is about talent.
true... high school musicals tend to be political

Now, Tiff, they shouldn't learn THAT way to get roles until college.
