I've always heard horror stories from friends who have worked at Disney. They just don't care about their employees. But this hits a new low:

it may be just me but I'll be damned if I'm going to train someone (foreign or not) who's going to replace me in 2-3 months. That's when I tell company XYZ to go ^%#^%$ themselves.

This is one instance in which it IS appropriate to say "Blame it on both parties."
The sad truth is that no one has been looking out for the American worker for decades. No one at all.

Emotionally I agree w you.
BUT 1) there was an additional severance bonus , and pride is not edible or able to pay a phone bill
2) They ALWAYS dangle the possibility of another position being found for u w/in the co. people want to hope they have a chance at another job and don't want to PO the people who could recommend such action. ( supervisors et al) so yup people will suck this crap up
3) 3 months more work. Money is money and what are your other job prospects?
4) Job references. Do u really want them to describe u as" not a team player interested only in "personal success not the company's" (and my personal fav) a" bad attitude" towards your previous employer< GL getting another job w that hanging over u.
( personally I've been told so many times I hava Bad Attitide that I've wanted to wear a Mohawk, 10 lbs of gold chains and sneer "I pity the fool" , but am afeered no one would "get" it

Doubt Walt would have stood for this obvious money grab. Now you see why Mickey has such big hands. Eventually they will price themselves out of many budgets. If I were planning a trip there, I would cancel it over this type of b.s.

Because Walt never did anything to save a buck, like lying about plans for Disney World, setting up dummy corporations to purchase the land in secret, and letting people think various other entities such as the Rockefellers, Howard Hughes, and NASA were the ones buying all this land outside of Orlando. Nope, he was always completely forthright and honest and never let the bottom line be a motivation in his business decisions.
Saying "Walt never would have done this" or "this never would have happened under Walt's leadership" is the same as the Apple fans who all seem to know what Steve Jobs would have been doing with the company if he was still around. They were complicated and shrewd business men and to think that anybody knows what decisions they would be making with their companies today is a true mark of hubris.

As someone who used to work for the rat, er, I mean mouse, the employees are always treated like cattle.
It's NOT the happiest place on earth around pay day.
