I was wondering if Randy Newman was going to rewrite the same damn songs he's been rewriting for the past 30 years...I guess the answer is yes...sigh.

I'm a big fan of traditional animation, but I can't say that I'm excited for this particular film. Who knows, maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised. But the animation looks gorgeous!

So excited for Anika Noni Rose! Have been looking forward to this since it was announced that she would be providing the lead's voice.

Hah I was working in the traditional (aka...hand drawn) animation industry and was about to go to school for it, when the whole industry fell through. This is bittersweet for me to see it happen. I'm really happy that its happening, I just wish it had happened way sooner! My life would have been VERY different right now, I'm sure.

I have a friend who says he thinks the firefly is "racist"... He also used the word "coon" in his description of it.

The firefly issue did cross my mind at first, but I really doubt that's what they're going for. Isn't it supposed to take place in New Orleans?

I forgot Newman was writing the score. Too bad, really. The song on this trailer is a key example of why I loath Newman's writing. It actually sounds exactly like the fabulous "Family Guy" parody of Newman's brand of music.

Let's see what else we can find to be considered racist in this movie. Why did they change the title to "The Princess and the Frog"??? Was "The Frog Princess" considered racist, too?

I noticed Jim Cummings is in it too. He is is almost all the old school Disney films.

I'm so tired for the computer stuff that all looks and sounds the same. I'm thrilled this is coming out, a musical with a Broadway voice no less.

I'm looking forward to this as well as the, allegedly, forthcoming Rapunzel. When I worked for Disney people would get really angry about the lack of an African American princess. There's white, Native American, Asian, and Arabian. This has been too long coming.
Some of the critics are complaining about the firefly and the fact that the prince is more "tan" than "black". Personally, I think he looks fine.
