sorry, Cruel. it does, indeed suck.
Mine divorced about 15 years ago, and it will take a while to get over, and as cliche as it sounds, it is never the kid's fault. You didn't do anything wrong. they just went their separate ways after obviously loving each other at least at one point in thier lives.
My parents started off speaking to eachother, but that stopped a long time ago. they can't stand eachother know. My dad is remarried, 48, and just had a child last year with his new bitch. sorry- wife. anyway, he wants nothing to do with his first family, doesn't really talk to me or help support me, not like I need it, but I did when I was going to college.
I am glad that your parents are deciding to remain friends. that is great to hear.
what to look foward to: the holidays: two of each of the major ones, so more presents
what not to look foward to: the holidays: the presents are great, but year after year of traveling back and forth to try to be with each family over one day is painstaking, and I always loathe the holiday season now.
Things will be fine, Cruel. You'll move on, and both your parents love you, as you know. Just take this time to grow closer to your little sister, she is gonna need it, and the two of you can form an eternal bond through this ordeal.
