Do We Have A Secret Sign?

Posted: 2/12/06 at 12:49amthis is the gayest thread ever. After watching Southpark for an hour, I mean that in the sense in which Cartman would use it.

I love the idea of a little badge. Much better than me lurking around and whispering out of the corner of my mouth: psst. broadway world? psst broadway world?
Anything...even a simple black button with 'BWW' on it would be helpful.
Every once and awhile I'd overhear someone and would wonder if they were a BWW poster (usually someone who is very clever/witty/astute).
#104re: Do We Have A Secret Sign?
Posted: 2/12/06 at 1:27amI would like to point out that anything that says BWW will probably be mistaken for BBW. You may meet posters from a completely different board that way.

How about this except maybe a bit smaller. I have to apologize, my photosho skills aren't the greatest.

Actually I like this one better...
With a pin so small you would not be able to read the letters anyway. This way you still have the recognizable bww logo. It also seems much more understated.

That's my favorite as well. I actually sat next to a BWWer at the Kennedy Center last year without knowing it. We had a lovely conversation before and after the show, then the next morning we discovered who we were online. Freaky!
Threadjack alert: Mamie - just saw that "To Kill a Mockingbird" is airing on TMC this afternoon!

Posted: 2/12/06 at 8:37amDo you know I've bought it twice on VHS (I wore the first one out) and now I also have it on DVD and despite all that, I still can't help watching it when it's on TV!

When I was at the final performance of BWW with another BWWer, we were seated right behind a BWWer who we had never met, but had "known" from the boards. We didn't know until we all stumbled into a conversation about it... it's still a fun laugh. ((We've since met!)
It's clear from posts and reviews that many of us attend the same events. I always wonder who else from BWW is in the audience...

I wonder, too, but I don't really see myself wearing a pin.
Why not just start a marathon thread called "Who is going to a show today?" in which people can make their plans known and touch base if interested. That would eliminate the clutter of a gazillion new threads, and anyone who was interested could be part of it.

Posted: 2/12/06 at 9:41amI like KelRel's pin or something along those lines, minus the "bww" because I think we'd need permission to use it.
#113re: Do We Have A Secret Sign?
Posted: 2/12/06 at 9:51amI think a little lapel pin would be the best too. They are small, usually inexpensive and you would only notice if you were looking for it!

Since in my mind you all look like your avatars, why don't we just appear that way?
You will be able to recognize me by the large black birds stuck to my head and fur coat.
I suppose the one on my head will annoy other members of the audience, but I don't care. It's all for the good of the cause.

Flitty, a good option...subtle, stylish, yet political. I like that in a person.

Well, as much as I'd love to arrive at the theatre in ripped jeans, a sleeveless flannel shirt and a red trucker hat, I'll have to pass.
And, my last avatar wasn't wearing anything but a smile, so that won't work either.

I usually have Ms. Menzel as my avatar, I don't know how I am going to pull that off.
I'd looove it shameless, actually I'd just love the teddy bear more!
As the universal single finger sign, what if we do it the shakespearian way?

Bump...
We really need to wear a pin or something to identify ourselves. I posted my review of Spelling Bee on here and Greenifyed told me that Gretchasketch posts on here and she was standing right next to me.
And something in me wanted me to ask her if she was a member of BWW but, I didn't because if she wasn't, I would have felt really dumb.
So, we really do need something for BWW poster identification
