I live in Chicago. To order from Dominos, Papa John, Pizza Hut, etc. is actually a crime here.

Joe - Agreed. Even in college, the only people who ever order Dominos are the sad sacks who haven't bothered to realize that they're in New York & there are better pizzas to be had.

Sadly, even the family has gone for Pizza Hut once in awhile. That Thin & Crispy Veggie Lovers has my number.

California Pizza Kitchen makes my favorite frozen red sauce pizza. Their thin crust five cheese is sooooooo fine. I love it.

If you wanna step out of the ordinary for a pizza type something, Trader Joe's Tarte d'Champignon is divine. Their description:

A french style flat bread with mushrooms, emmental and parmesan cheese.

Now, if we are talking about frozen pizzas, Freschetta's 5 Cheese Brick Oven pizza is the best I have ever tasted. YUMMY!

Last week I had a Freschetta natually rising supreme pizza. IT WAS EXCELLENT and it cooked perfectly.

I have never been able to tolerate Pizza Hut or Dominos pizza... both awful, and really, are a disgrace to pizza.

I ALWAYS go with with $5 Dollar Hot and Ready from Little Caesars. Its not half bad. And CHEAP! Which is a plus for a poor, pitiful, little college student like me.

Besides the extremely upscale places that won't even deliver where I am, we only have the various chains. Dominoes is the only one I'll never order from, but we order from Marco's 90% of the time. (They're primarily located in Ohio and Michigan, and essentially taste like a better variation on Pizza Hut's style.)

We always try the smaller chains and mom and pop places, but I'm always disappointed. The last one had vegetables that still had that bitter "soaking in a jar" taste.

I went to Kent State in Ohio back in the day when the ONLY pizza in town was Dominos or other pan style pizza. One day a guy showed up on the outskirts of the campus...dormitory end...and set up a real Italian pizza place he relocated from the Jersey Shore. Hand tossed crust. Home made pizza sauce. It was take-out only, there was always a line, and the family fortune might now rival the Trump's.

Can't say I've been put in the position to be forced Domino's. My favorite places are Grotto & Nicola's, but both of them are 5 hours away.

TheatreFan, Tony's and La Vita E Bella both have excellent pizza. Cosmo's has it's fans, but the pizza is so tiny and expensive it doesn't make the cut. Brozetti's is totally unique because of their sweet red sauce, though their garlic is probably among the best I've ever had. Definitely try them out if you haven't.

TF4 - I LOVE Grotto pizza!

And as far as frozen, if you like thin crust you should try Palermo pizza. The regular pepperoni, the margarita pizza, and the chicken caesar are all delish.

Grotto is awesome. Everyday when lounging in Rehoboth Beach I get one of the personal size pizzas from one of the three Grottos right on he boardwalk.

Whenever I go to my stepmom's condo in Ocean City I make them get pizza from Grotto. Even though the closest one to their condo is sort of far.

OK, so I just watched an hour long special on the Travel channel about Chicago vs. New York pizza, and I'm craving pizza so bad now.
