Edit: I watched one episode of the Disney version and couldn't watch anymore, that's why I don't remember the episode.
But the theme song actually says "Doug?" I thought it was just like doo doo doo doo doo...etc.
I totally remember that episode (the Disney version, I'm pretty sure) Patty, Connie and Bebe were all trying to lose weight but after Patty reached her goal she wanted to be even thinner. I remember one of the things she tried to only eat was the spray cheese.
Oddly enough, the only reason I do remember it was because it came on around the time I was going through my own eating disorder and it was one of the first indicators that told me that I had a problem.
and my favourite Doug song was most definatately "One Little Voice/Think Big"

oh that was Connie!! Remember at one poiint (maybe during the Disney period?) Connie suddenly lost a lot of weight and everyone wanted to be with her?
"I eat my sugar cereal...though it makes my teeth bacterial..."
Sigh...I loved the Beets...one of them reminded me very much of Ringo.
My personal favorite episode, though, was when Doug was new in town and Roger said that he needed to find and capture a nematode to fit in. Oh, that Roger...
Remember how Roger became suddenly rich in the Disney version? And all of the Halloween episodes with the costumes....
Roger got rich?? I thought he was poor trailer trash without a father?? Wow, i guess I missed a lot lol
Yeah, the Nematoad was the very first episode, it's classic! I love when Doug first meets Patti, it's so sweet!!
I hated when they decided to bring in a new baby. Remember it was Christmas, and I guess Doug and Judi were both allowed to pick a name for the baby but all Doug was thinking about was that he wanted a dirtbike for Christmas, so they actually named the baby Dirtbike Roxanne or something! wtf was that about? =/
They named her Cleopatra Dirtbike Funnie, Since Judy was going on about Cleopatra in that episode. Dirtbike for short.

Yeah, Disney totally ruined it. Roger's family won the lottery, I think. And yeah, Connie got thin. (God forbid anyone should come up with a female character who can be cute and charming and plump all at the same time. ) The original Nick ones were good, though.
One I always liked was the one where everyone was going to see the super-scary horror movie, and Doug felt like a chicken because he kept closing his eyes when the monster came on. He finally went back to the movie and managed to keep his eyes open, ended up laughing at how cheesy the monster costume was, then found out that all his friends who had bragged about seeing the movie had been closing their eyes, too.
Also the one where Patti invites him to her house for dinner, and he's afraid he's going to have to eat the dreaded Liver and Onions! (That was a really early one, I think.)
I miss "Doug" so much, it's not even cute. Let's all sing the theme song...
Do-dodo do dodadoda do do do.
(scat) Chika-chicka-cicka-pop-pa!
My favorite part ever on "Doug"...
DOUG: Hey, Judy. I was wondering if I could look through your room for a second.
JUDY: Oh, sure, Doug. You can go through all of my private stuff. You can even look in my dresser.
(Doug heads for the dresser, but Judy moves violently in front of him)
JUDY: STAY AWAY FROM MY DRESSER!
DOUG: But you said...
JUDY: I was being sarcastic.
Judy was so awesome
That whole show was awesome on Nickelodeon
And Porkchop will always rock my socks
*sigh* good times. i hated in the disney version when everybody's hair changed. why did patty hafta get a haircut? i'll never know.
i loooooved the episode when doug tries out for the school play about leonardo da vinci and patty is playing mona lisa, and doug has to step in as an understudy or something and sing: "mona liiiisa please say cheeeeesa!!!" ahhh, doug was a theatre kid at heart.
I think most of us here can totally relate to Judy the Drama Queen lol she was always my favorite. One of my favorite episodes was where Judy was going to get her drivers liscense, and Doug asks Patti out to this bumper-car park or whatever saying that Judy could drive them. But Judy ends up failing her test and says she never wants to drive at all, so Doug keeps trying to trick her into learning how to paralell park lol
What about the episode where he learns ballet? Beebe Bluff crashes into him, and says: "Why don't you watch where I'm going?!" And at the end of the episode, Porkchop spins out of nowhere.
I always got the Doug theme song confused with the Clarissa Explains It All theme song.
i loved the ballet episode
or when they were trying to get to the Beets concert and missed the bus..but then met them at that burger place..what was it called again? i just remember wishing i could go and get a burger haha. was it honker sumthing?
remember graduation..awww.
remember when the candy bars had cement in them hahha. who was the ice cream man? mr swirlie? and his factory was all screwed up..
oh man i miss this so much!!
I liked the one where they went to the theme park, and rode on that scary ride in the castle, and the floor was glass or something.
Yup, it was called the Honker Burger.
I liked the one where Doug went out with Patti but could never figure out if it was a "date" or not and all the signs were different.
haha the date one was so funny.
oh the honker burger..i knew it was honker something.

Oh I remember she was spraying stuff in her mouth that tasted like things like sandwhiches, but I don't remember spray cheese..lol...
No wonder I don't remember this episode. I think I blocked out most of the Disney episodes. The Nick ones were SO much better! I used to have a tape with a few episodes on it (gotta love the orange Nick tapes!) and I think I still have it somewhere. Memories...
On a quick change of topic, the two episode of "Are You Afraid...?" that scared me the most were the ones with the clowns. One was entitled "The Tale of the Crimson Clown", and the other featured a boy who stole the nose of a funhouse mannequin, and it haunted him.
broadway86, I remember those! Those scared the hell out of me!
ARE YOU AFRAID OF THE DARK was the best show ever during it's first few seasons. Scared the CRAP out of me. I mean, I literally went to bed and had nightmares. But, then after the cast started to change it got stupid and just funny.
So many great memories.
Nickelodeon used to be the greatest channel ever.
