I was thinking Dana Ivey for Mrs. Hughes?

Ivey comes across a little too cold for that role, I think. Someone who can be stern as well as caring like Mary Beth Peil would be better suited, I think.

Yes, but he'll need a number...
Wee might have to make this a musical miniseries.

In the tradition of Nicholas Nickleby and Angels in America, comes Downton Abbey, a multi-part musical fantasia on British themes.

Lurve the idea of Aaron Tveit as Branson. I think there's room for a second musical here about Tom and Sybil in Ireland. What a disappointment it was in the TV series that it was all spoken to screen (with facile comments from the Dowager). In fact I don't think I've ever seen any dramatisation of events surrounding the creation of the Irish republic - how come Mel Gibson missed that opportunity?!
I definitely prefer Victor Garber as my noble Lord Grantham; Michael Crawford couldn't cope with understatement.

Eric: don't get me wrong - I think The Guardian is a great newspaper with a history of revelatory journalism that has improved this country for the better throughout it's history (not least its recent role in lancing the Murdoch boil).
It's just not what I want when I go the theatre.

So when will the final casting be decided?
Once that's done, we can start a donation page on gofundme-com to help with expenses.
Scripps, you should check out Neil Jordan's Michael Collins and Ken Loach's The Wind That Shakes The Barley.

Pity. She's busy. I believe she's doing her little Rainbow show, on a tour of East Anglian Council Flats.
