The cast has now officially been revealed and I believe it's everyone that has been rumored for awhile. For those fans of Drag Race, you'll see the familiar face of Jade Jolie (RPDR S5). I guess she went from Taylor Swift to ooky spooky.

The season premieres 10/19 on Shudder.

I'm happy this show has a following. And as a HUGE drag race fan, I just can't seem to get into it? Like why does eating spiders have to do with drag? It's not for me. But I LOVE "Sloppy Seconds" podcast with Meatball.

What does hosting a round table talk show have to do with Drag?

What does 90% of drag race challenges have to do with drag? Or spending thousands of dollars on runway looks? lol

It's all tv.

FWIW: I think Dragula does a better job showcasing drag than Drag Race ever has. Updated On: 9/10/21 at 06:22 PM

To respond, I did watch the Season 4 premiere because as stated I love the Sloppy Seconds podcast and I love Marie Cherrie (or however she spells it), so I watched.

And I still don't get it.

But, to your points, I think a lot of the Drag Race challenges can be pinpointed back to a drag show. The roundtable thing - can you host, can you have an honest conversation and connect with an audience.

Now, to the premiere, I was interested and intrigued. The monster ball thing was fun and felt very Drag Race - monster edition, so that was fun to watch. They lost me - somewhat - at the elimination. Like, what? It's too much. But I'll probably still watch. But good on them for offering $100K.

I loved the premiere although I think the Boulet Brothers need to calm down with the horror movie openings. They're boring, a waste of money and nothing anyone besides them wants to see.

This cast is good overall but certainly not as strong as those previous. The more popular the show gets, the more I think it leans into the drama. Which I don't mind but it seems like that's where it's trying to emulate the early days of Drag Race. I mean you don't cast Merrie Cherry for polished looks (see: Stay Puft Marshmallow Woman). While Merrie came in thinking she was going to be the main source of fighting she was immediately overshadowed by Zavaleta. I liked Sigourney during her Meet the Monsters interview but it's becoming clear that she's only tolerable in small doses. Jade is trying VERY hard to do something. I don't know if she thinks she needs an image rehab from Drag Race but this "gee golly it's great to be here and everyone is so cool and nice and super keen" schtick is grating.

The challenge itself was a bit of a mixed bag. I wish they had talked to all the queens to say what their inspo was because it wasn't always clear. Astrud was by far the best followed by HoSo (who I think is the front runner) and I'm kind of into this immediate flirtation between them. I wasn't gagging over Koco's look because I don't think it related very much to Morticia and if she hadn't talked through the idea no one would have understood during the floor show.

Yes, I agree that the exterminations are kind of stupid and don't impact who goes home anymore. It definitely did in earlier seasons when girls would tap out but it's what sets Dragula apart. The show has come a long way from YouTube where all the monsters were in a tiny room sharing one mirror and the prize was like $125 and bus fare so I'm glad to see the success for this style of drag when now the world is so accustomed to Drag Race.

I want to see season 1 because I love Meatball and her podcast, but I've been following this season. I'm interested. I don't like horror, but I think, once you realize that it's all sort of fake and "fear factor"-ish it's fine.

I honestly came to this season for Merrie Cherry, so I find her VERY entertaining. And I'm here for all the drama. I find it very entertaining. Maybe that's sad, but it keeps me coming back every week.

That said. I don't get what this challenge was suppose to be? Like, it was the same spoken word lip-sync the whole time? What were they suppose to do? I don't get it. I don't really get why the 2 bottom girls were chose, but that said, I don't really get why anyone won.
