Good for her! I've been a fan of her work for a while.

I thought she was gay for years, but I always assumed I was wrong because I have terrible gaydar.
Good for her!
I actually didn't get any vibes at all from her, so here's someone with even worse gaydar.
I love her though.
I never got a vibe, but I always thought she might be gay. Most of her film work has been playing the outcast roles. She always played them too well.
I need to watch WHIP IT now.
Love the speech she gave! Despite that dreadful movie which made her a star, I think she's a really smart, sharp actress.
I honestly thought she was already officially out, though. I have this (clearly, false) memory of her discussing it in interviews.
Dreadful movie being which? I can't recall Ellen ever being in a dreadful movie.
Unless you count JUNO. The script for JUNO is pretty dreadful.
I don't think she's awful in JUNO. Like I said, the script is mediocre. I don't know why it received so much praise.

HorseTears, your memory of Ellen Page coming out years ago is your truth.

Oh darn. Looks like our love wasn't mean to be.
I thought she was the best thing about INCEPTION, although she looked like she was dying to puncture the self-seriousness of it all with a sarcastic comment.
That speech was lovely and heartfelt. Yes, let people come out on her whole time and if you missed the speech, she addressed the fact she was in a system where she had to deny a truth about her.
But seriously, how many working actresses in their 20s of her stature are out? Not many.
I told my roommate about this last night and he said "That's...weird". This morning he said "Last night I thought you said ELAINE Paige came out". And then I laughed so hard I almost peed.
When I once mentioned Ellen Foley sang the girl part in 'Paradise by The Dashboard Light' and dated Mick Jones of The Clash to my mother, she thought I was talking about Elaine Paige. 'So she was in Cats while dating a punk singer? Interesting, though I can see the Meat Loaf part a little more.'

I know that I'm late for posting, but I've admired her work for many years. She's a very gifted actress.

Yes! That's it! That's exactly right. And just one of the reasons I love her so much.
(and btw I liked Juno)
I liked JUNO quite a lot as well. I'm not getting the dislike for it by some on this board.
That was a wonderful speech she delivered.

I loved Ellen in JUNO, but blame Michael Cera for my dislike. He ruined the movie for me.
