re: Emcee + mean, scary New Yorker =

Emcee, I just came to despise people who try to tell me what to do. It's the public. It'sone thing if I followed the man into the restroom and stood next to him at the urinals screaming into my phone.

Ever realize you were typing and spaced out and hit enter? re: Emcee + mean, scary New Yorker =
I meant to continue by saying there are moments when you can show some measure of respect, which I generally do by trying to lower my loud-mouth voice when I'm in an enclosed space.

While I tend to be annoyed with people on phones in the elevator (mostly because 9 times out of 10, it ends up being a ride full of very loud "Hello??? Can you HEAR ME?!?!? HELLLLOOOO???"s than the fact that someone's on the phone in the first place). The thing that's particularly ridiculous about this guy is that he probably spent more time holding the door open, yelling at you, than the entire ride would have taken in to begin with. That being said, if it was only a few flights, why not just take the stairs? (eh, I'm just being difficult, em! I know after a long day at work, you just want to get the hell O.U.T. re: Emcee + mean, scary New Yorker =)

bwaysinger has the OTHER option I would have suggested. But I normally retaliate by being cheerful...

Aww emcee!! I'm so sorry you had to deal with that! *hugs*
I have my books and my poetry to protect me...

hehe, I love that picture.

I've just never understood the point of picking fights with people you've never seen before, nor will you ever see again, most likely... especially when you're dealing with them for such finite periods of time. I mean, sh*t's going to bother you many times in your life, and usually, it's such stupid crap. Just deal with it.

I would've mabel, but if I had stayed out like he asked, then I'd have been backing down more than I already did. I'm stubborn.

Hate to pat myself on the back for my genius choice of an avatar, but really...tis fab, isn't it?!?!?

I've had the avatars turned off (because it makes it even more obvious that I'm not doing any "work" at work, so I had quite the little laugh seeing that again...thanks, Thenardier!

Oh, em!!! I fear you've jinxed yourself by saying "people that you'll most likely never see." I hope I'm wrong, but I sense and uncomfortable rendez-vous in the elevator one of these days w/ Mr. Sunshine!

Oh, the way my life goes, I'll see him in the morning. And then I'll throw my shoe at him.

Thanks for sharing, Thenardier. re: Emcee + mean, scary New Yorker =

Aw, em...I hope you don't run into him tomorrow. Maybe you should toss an extra shoe (maybe a heel??...got anything clunky?) into your bag...save yourself the time of having to take one off. Give him a swift knock on the head.

What a rude f***ing a**hole.
Sorry I can't provide advice; I've been in a terrible mood today and reading about your experience made me extra-incensed.

Wear some nasty dominatrix boots.

Those would hurt.

Every girl should.

...Secretly.

...Not that I own any. I have pirate boots, though! re: Emcee + mean, scary New Yorker =

Oooh, go get him!!! You sound like you're prepared, emcee! Alas, I'd be stuck beating him with a flip flop...I don't think that'd do much damage.

I always enjoy reading how people attempt to rationalize bad behavior. Because others talk on phones in an elevator it does not negate the fact that it's rude.

Hm. Cell phones in general, but especially in enclosed places are a real pet peeve of mine. When I come into the city, I travel via bus from Central Jersey to Port Authority. So many times I have arrived with a raging headache from people jabbering the entire time of the whole 45 minute or longer, depending on traffic, drive.

He was rude. It could've been handled in a much more polite manner, but Em, I can't work up too much sympathy for you on this one.

And yes, I do own one since most of the time I'm driving NJ highways by myself.
I hung out with Cheyenne Jackson in his dressing room waayyyyyy before he tickled D2.
