Yeah, I'm a little surprised that the people behind the remake had the common sense to cut it. I love the youtube comments which seem to find it incredibly scary... Ummm.

(It's been a LONG time since I've read the novel--18 or so years, but someone on that youtube says in the novel when Sue survives it is shown for sure that Carrie's spirit has possessed her... I do not remember this, anyone?)

Carlos, you must have been devastated that the tv series the remake was meant to setup never happened (what would it have been? Carrie traveling from town to town helping people to find redemption or something is honestly what I heard. Wow.)

All I remember of the sequel was it had a shower scene with some male nudity. And Irving was back which made me feel sorry for her.

That Youtube poster is, surprise, surprise, flat out wrong. As Carrie is dying she and Sue share a brief psychic connection, so to speak, that helps Sue find her and kind of give Carrie some comfort as she goes, but it is pretty clear that Sue feels Carrie die and that connection is done.

There is a brief little epilogue where we are given a letter that someone wrote to someone implying that she caught her young daughter (maybe even still an infant, it's been a while and the book is not where I can get to it to check) displaying telekinetic powers. I took that as maybe it was supposed to be a distant relation of Carrie's, but I think that may have been something I was choosing to read into it and not something King explicitly intended.

Thanks! That's pretty much how I remember it--even the epilogue.

It's "funny" King did an extensive list of his favorite things (books, movies, tv, etc) of 2013 in Ent Weekly and made no mention of Carrie (in New York--it was last Spring right?--or the remake...)
