One of the hardest questions to answer...if you had to name ONE movie, what would you say is your personal favorite ever?

Probably The Untouchables. Not the BEST movie of all-time, but one that I watch anytime it's on one of the HBOs - and it is a lot!
The best is The Godfather, though. Always have to watch that one, too.
I'm not allowed to post on this, having seen so few classic movies.

Elphaba, I know there's a double feature with The Women and I think its All About Eve playing at the Castro in the coming weeks. Can't wait.
I'm changing my answer. CRASH is the new answer.

The Pride of the Yankees with Gary Cooper. I cry when Lou Gehrig resigns.

Awww... I love the song in the beginning, when you first meet the bad guys.
Choosing one favorite movie is impossible. I am influenced by many factors when choosing favorite movies:
Genre
Mood
Timing
Weather
For example, if I am in a happy mood, then my favorite movie selection might be Modern Times, The Patsy, Holiday, Forty Second street, or one of a doze Temple movies, like Little Miss Marker.
If I am in a darker mood, I would be choosing somthing like On Borrowed Time, Strange Cargo, The Big Street, Baby Face, or Death Takes a Holiday.
If I am in an introspective mood, I would be choosing something like the silent classic The Crowd, or The Big Parade, Design for Living, or maybe Captain's Courageous.
If I am in a vengeful mood, something like The Women, Rain, The Unholy three, West of Zanzibar, Now Voyager, or Blonde Crazy would be selected.
You see? It's impossible to have to select just one.
oh my God......I am not sure if I could even pick between the Women and All About eve........I would love to see those at the Castro! I miss being able to walk out the door and be at that theater in less than 10 minutes!
This is easy. It's number 2 that's difficult!
THE SOUND OF MUSIC
The Talented Mr Ripley
Well, you could knock me over with a feather!
The Piano.
since we're picking our favorite and not the best or anything i can with very little guilt say tequila sunrise.
An Imitation Of Life with Lana Turner.
Shawshank Redemption...
Singin' in the Rain has always been my #1 favorite film.
Broadway boobs,
Have you seen the original Imitation of Life? The Lana Turner version is a poor imitation of the original.
