Right now it's at 67% on Rotten Tomatoes which, for a slasher flick, is pretty high. Some of the reviews I'm reading are kind of shocking. I thought "maaaaaaaaaaaybe I'll go see this in 3D" but I think I might have to get to it ASAP now.

I just saw some of those reviews and very suprised.

I thought the original was one of the best made horror movies of its year.

The rest suck.

i saw the first ten minutes at Comic-Con and I was pretty impressed with it... it made me want to see the entire movie (which I am going to this weekend!)

If you just look at top critics it takes it down to 29 percent

The first was brilliant, clever, witty and still grounded in some sort of relaity. The second was fun but OTT, the rest were awful. The Final Destination was painful to sit through.

It bugs me that they cant find a new twist and turn in the story, its the same thing each time. Elm Street had some not so great sequels (except 3, 4 and New Nightmare) but at least it kept playing with the story, expanding on it etc.

Love it. The suspension bridge sequence must be seen in 3D!
Already looking forward to the 6th one.

SPOILERS!

so I really enjoyed this one... definitely better than the last one... and i honestly didn't see that ending coming... not until they showed the airplane did it hit me that this was a prequel!!! i almost completely forgot that the first movie started with a plan going to Paris... i just didn't put it together until I saw the plane.. haha...

I thought the film was much better than the 3rd and 4th but not as good as the 1st and 2nd. It plodded along doing the ssame old same old but at least this time they managed to build suspense which they forgot to do on the last one.

The ending however was very clever, i take my hat off to them for that ending.
