Facebook question
Facebook question#1
Posted: 2/7/09 at 5:02pmOkay- so a college friend of mine asked me to join Facebook so I finally did today- even thought my kids think it's completely uncool. Anyway, I am able to log-on but when I go to the place where it says find friends and I try to log-on it says that my password is not valid. When I looked at the settings- there are more astericks than there are for my password- so I don't know what happened. Is there a way to fix this or do I have to cancel my page and start over and will it let me with the same e-mail address? Sorry to be so stupid! THANKS for your help!

I have no idea why that is happening, SM?
When I log in, I just click on Friend Finder or whatever it says and I don't have to log in again? I just go to the bottom and type their name in?

Posted: 2/7/09 at 5:11pmThanks you two! Yeah- I can pull up my page just find. It's when I went to find people you e-mail- it asks for a password. When I go to my settings I can see that my e-mail has too many letters. I can't change it without knowing the original. Is there someplace to find out what your original password was?

re: Facebook question#6
Posted: 2/7/09 at 5:13pmSM, you can scroll down a little and there is a place you can just type their name in to try to find them.

The password you enter in has to be the password for the email address in the box above, not your FB password. FB then goes out and checks your contact list for any email addresses that match those registered with FB.
Other than that perhaps your email system isn't facebook compatible
re: Facebook question#8
Posted: 2/7/09 at 5:15pmWell, I put in my comcast e-mail address and was able to bring it up- go figure! Anyway, I will have to play with this more. I actually just found people I went to high school with that I haven't talked to in ages. The possibilities are going to be very time consuming. Again, thanks for all of your help. I know this won't be the first time I will be frustrated with facebook!

Between Facebook and BWW, you'll never get off the computer.

You took the words out of my mouth, unc!
Mom-Facebook was really weird yesterday. Every time I went there, it gave me a hard time.

Me too, Stockard.
And my kids keep saying to me "YOU ARE OBSESSED WITH THE COMPUTER".
Eh, I'm sure when the weather is nicer, I'll get off of here...yeah right.

My computer is on my bedside table, because this is not really a proper bedroom. I imagine I may spend less time online when I move into my new house and have a real desk to put my computer on, but there's no guarantee.
I know I spend too much time online. I'm sure it's not good. But... I like you guys. It's all your fault I'm socially inept in real life! :P
re: Facebook question#17
Posted: 2/7/09 at 5:33pmYeah, in the summer I spend alot less time on the computer. I'm obsessed with tanning and we have a pool.

danmag, I really do think we were separated at birth.
OK, speaking of spending too much time on the computer, I really do need to start dinner. It's sort of complicated and I need to be stirring **** the whole time. I'll check back in during dinner. Yes, I should be talking with my husband and child, but I'm obsessed.

Posted: 2/7/09 at 5:46pmI"m worse than all of you-I sometimes eat in front of the computer!

I frequently eat in front of my computer! Another reason I'm glad to be getting a real desk soon is so I can stop wearing this backside-shaped groove in my mattress, always sitting in the same place tapping away on the keyboard. XD
(I've also found one of the computers at work won't crash when I come here, so I may have found additional opportunities for posting. :3 Neither crash when I do Facebook though, so I'm on there FAAAAAR more than can be healthy. And LiveJournal. O_O)

Stockard, I am about to do the same thing. Curtain is at 7:30 this evening. I made my pork roast last night so all I have to do is make the mashed potatoes and veggies. The time will just fly by if I just sit here in front of the computer and wait to make dinner.
I need a husband!
