I thought she was pro-life in that (Jada).

Though I kind of agree with you statement, Phyl, I guess I just appreciate a more nuanced view. Like the other thread pointed out, not everything surrounding the issue of abortion is gloom and doom...though many would like to think so.

Yes...Pinkett was pro-life and VERY sassy about it. Heche was stunning, however.

Demi's story was so compelling however...for that part alone, it is a great film...and taking jerby's view...the only one that had to be gloom and doom being pre Roe v. Wade.

Cher cast everyone she knew in that segment. She and Diana played lovers in Silkwood. Her sister was the blonde nurse who interrupted Jada and the other woman arguing about the protest. Her ex-boyfriend, Rob, was the reporter that said, "Hey f*ck you, you redneck assh*ole!"

I think the film was rather dark, but each segment needs to be looked at on its own as opposed to the film as a whole. "1952" makes me cringe, but it's how it used to be. That's something we could easily go back to. "1974" was more of a look at how it impacts a family, I guess. It shook me the least. I think that segment made me realize exactly how pro-choice I am. I was 19 and still doing the Baptist thing, so I was surprised by my own reaction. I thought she should have had the abortion and finished her education and avoided the strain on her family, but that's just me. And then "1996" was scary, but it was exactly what was going on and still is. That segment is the reason I started volunteering at 21.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!
