Edit: A baseball pic ended up in place of the first image -- just so that Addy's post makes sense

Glebb, I love that song. Bittersweet, but so pretty.

Lili, the lovely "musical" about an orphaned girl who in the first five minutes is almost raped and then tries to kill herself all the while in love with a secretly married "player" and yet loved from afar by a lame alcoholic.

I LOVE LILI!!!

Addy, and they had French accents.

Any "life" that has Zsa Zsa Gabor is going to be more bizarre than yours. :)

"maginary"? Don't you mean "I'm a maid mad to marry"...?

DAHHHHLING! (I think that was Eva. Not sure though)

Why does that Lili puppet "Carrot Top" remind me of something that could have been spawned by Waylon and Madam?

Ha ha PalJoey, until you corrected me I meant 'maid maginary'.
I actually quite liked (all these years) it too. :)

Don't I rate some kind of silly award on this board???

Glebb, don't feel bad - I know a certain someone who thought the line "when I take you out in my surrey" was "when I take you out in Missouri" and couldn't figure that out given the Oklahoma theme...

That's because you listen to the MGM version. On the OBCR, Lisa Kirk has better diction.

Well, any Gabor has a weirder life.... :)

It's a longer drive from Missouri to Oklahoma. More time for hijinks in the surrey...

I'd rather take the Atchison Topeka and the Santa Fe than a surrey anyday.

"What a lovely trip
I'm feeling so fresh and alive
and I'm so glad to arrive
It's all so grand
It's easy to see
You don't need a palace
To feel like Alice
in Wonderland."

Back in Ohio, where I come from ...

Judy loved those state name songs -

I was born in Michigan...
San Francisco, open your golden gates...
Chicago, Chicago, that toddelin' town...
Meet me in St. Louis...

Too many, but the two that stand above the rest: Singin' in the Rain and Oz.
