hmm well I'm sure I'll adore Phantom of the Opera....
How sad is it that the best film of the year so far and by far was a cartoon? Shrek 2 gets my vote. It was 10 times better than the first, it was clever, smart, had snappy dialouge, was touching, mesmerising, and exciting. I loved it
1. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
2. Garden State
3. Finding Neverland
4. The Incredibles
...that's so far..there are still some movies I'm looking forward to seeing...
I liked Shrek 2, but my favorite part of it was Puss n' Boots.
And yeah... I'm seeing the Phantom of the Opera movie on Wednesday, so I'm *hoping* it takes the spot as my favorite movie of the year (I mean, I love the soundtrack and I love Patrick Wilson, so...)
Ooh, wait. That reminds me. Does HBO's version of Angels in America count as a movie? Because if it does, that's at the top of my list.
Puss in boots is definitely the best part of Shrek 2
I am seeing Phantom Sunday

It's just the date of the next book's release, not the book itself. Right?
Well, yeah but at least I will know when it is coming out instead of waiting and waiting. Sad, I know.

Damn you, Rowling, for doing silly non-HP things like having children!

I still have to see a bunch more, but as of now, definitely Garden State.
Bring.....It....ON!!!!
KINSEY, with Shrek 2 not far behind... and almost everything else loses by a landslide.
I'm seeing Sideways and Million Dollar Baby tomorrow.
So OT, but I'm geekily excited for the release date of the sixth Harry Potter book. Which means if it's being announced around now, the book will probably come out next summer (that's what happened with OotP).
ETERNAL SUNSHINE - fascinating original script and wonderful performances by carey and winslet.
FINDING NEVERLAND - a breath of fresh air in a sea of typical movie fair - heartwarming and moving
POLAR EXPRESS - wasn't expecting to like it because i'm such a fan of the picture book (just thinking about the movies GRINCH and CAT IN THE HAT makes me nauseous) - but i loved the atmospheric animation - incredible
Ray and Harry Potter and the POA.

Haven't seen nearly enough this year but my two faves were:
Garden State (Can't wait to see more from Braff as an actor, director, and/or writer)
Kill Bill 2 (These Kill Bill movies were Tarantino at his best)

Well, a lot of people seemed to have a problem with it, but I loved "The Village".
I still have a CHUNK of Oscar potential films to see, but so far:
1. KILL BILL vol 2
2. THE INCREDIBLES
3. FAHRENHEIT 9/11
3. GARDEN STATE
4. FINDING NEVERLAND
5. ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND

Eternal Sunshine
Ray
Mean Girls
If Big Fish was technically released this year, than definately that! My all time favorite movie!
Elf (if that was this year)
**joins Plum's and Spider's human chain of fist shakers**
I was a big fan of Collateral.
