Collateral was phenomenal. I couldnt really enjoy it since I saw it in the summer and the air conditioning in the theater wasnt working. It was perrty hot! The movie was very thrilling and it wonderfully balanced the three stories that there were. The cinematography better win or at least be nominated for an Oscar. It was jolty and shaky and it looked like a home video which made the story even more believable. The script was snappy and exciting and it really kept me on the edge of my seat. Tom Cruise and Jamie Foxx had the best chemestry on screen this whole year.
Also...
The Polar Express was amazing. It was a wonderful holiday film and it was 100 times better in IMAX 3D. It was a great, exciting ride. I loved it. Almost everything about it was flawless. It was a four star wonder. Please go see it if you havent. Its really really great.
I didn't see Ray yet. But Wicked, don't you think Jamie Foxx should be nominated for Best Supporting Actor for Collateral?
He should definitley be nominated although he has the Best Actor award in the bag. Wouldnt it be GREAT if he won both. Id be so happy for him.
Who do you think the winner of the Best Actress award will be? Unlike last year, the female performances this year has collectivley (sp) been so-so. Nothing (for me) really stood out.
No real opinion there WIcked, on the actresses I mean. Movie going was sparce for me this year as I got dragged to some of the summer sh!tfests like ALiev Vs Predator.
Don't count out Johhny Depp yet, they may give it to him for his collective work, not just Neverland. Although I would not be surprised at all if Foxx wins. Hollywood doesn't always take kindly to Bio pics, Ghandi excluded. Look at how they completely over looked Jim Carrey in Man on The Moon.

Wow. Great list.
Movies Im expecting to be great: POTO, Spanglish, and The Aviator (havent seen it yet)
I was right. POTO easily replaced Finding Neverland for my favorite movie of 2004.

RAY with Jamie Foxx. I thought he was magnificent in his portrayal of Ray Charles.
My favorite was "Napoleon Dynamite." It's not a brilliant, nuanced insight into our innermost psyches, but it made me laugh really hard, and that's just as good to me.
My other picks of the year are "Finding Neverland," "The Incredibles" and "Eternal Sunshine."
Oscar predictions:
BEST PICTURE:
The Aviator
Finding Neverland
Ray
Sideways
Eternal Sunshine or Million Dollar Baby (prob. Eternal Sunshine)
BEST ACTOR:
Jamie Foxx- RAY
Leonardo DiCaprio- THE AVIATOR
Liam Neeson- KINSEY
Johnny Depp- FINDING NEVERLAND
and I would love to see Denzel Washington get a nod for Manchurian Candidate even though it probably wont happen.
BEST ACTRESS:
Annette Benning- BEING JULIA
Hilary Swank- MILLION DOLLAR BABY
Emmy Rossum- POTO
Uma Thurman- KILL BILL VOLUME 2
Kate Winslet- ESOTSM
Supporting Actor:
Jamie Foxx- COLLATERAL
Clive Owen- CLOSER
Thomas Haden Church- SIDEWAYS
Supporting Actress:
Meryl Streep- THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE
Laura Linney- KINSEY
Cate Blanchett (sp)- THE AVIATOR
Natalie Portman- CLOSER
Director:
Martin Scorsesse (sp)- THE AVIATOR
Mike Nichols- CLOSER
Clint Eastwood- MILLION DOLLAR BABY
These are them so far. What do you guys think??
Oh and for Best Animated Film-
THE INCREDIBLES
SHREK 2
THE POLAR EXPRESS
(maybe SPONGEBOB?)
This sounds horrible, but I truly hope that Johnny Depp doesn't get nominated this year. His performance was okay, but not good enough for Best Actor. Off the top of my head, I could think of several more deserving performances.

THE PASSION OF THE CHRIST.
Actually it was the only moview I saw this year.
Actually it was the only movie I've seen in several years.
Actually I don't know if I ever want to see another film ever again.
Not even POTO, Dollypop? Not even for Patrick?? Oh, I'm sad now.

It scarred you that badly, huh, Dollypop?
if ROSSUM get's nominated for PHANTOM, i'll ... i'll ... i'll eat my shell!
Well I rather liked Team America : World Police.
I thought the Rent parody was hilarious, and was not in the least bit favourable to any stereotype: it was offensive to everyone.
One of the best laughs I've had in a while.
I'll be seeing POTO, meet the fockers and the Incredibles in the next couple of days, and they might be good too.
Girl Next Door and Dodgeball.
Emile Hirsch (even though he's barely 19!!) and Vince. Yummy.
I still have a few I want to see, but so far my favorites have been:
Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban
The Incredibles
Finding Neverland
Mean Girls
I am surprised no one mentioned "Maria Full of Grace." I thought that was a great film.
THE PASSION OF THE GIBSON was not only the worst film of the year, but quite possibly of the last 20 years.
