A friend of mine wrote for Square Pegs so I've always had a special spot for it.( and SJP's original nose!)
The original DeGrassi was great- this last incarnation was a little too "Hollywood" .
Surprised no one said Gossip Girl- my niece usta love that show!
I loved a lot of these shows, ahh memories.
I think I'm too young to be feeling so nostalgic!
I too loved my so called life, it was on when I was in high school so I totally related to it.
Of recent years, I think "Huge" was one of the best examples of good teen series. All the characters felt like complex teenagers and how they acted and spoke totally nailed it. Ironically both shows were created by Winnie Holzman. It's shame neither one lasted more then one season.
I would love to see a premium channel take on the angst of teens. Like and HBO or showtime series where anything goes.

I do have a soft spot for "Facts of Life" of course, but the best in recent memory are "Joan of Arcadia" and "Once and Again". Julia Whelan and Evan Rachel Wood were both stunning in that show.
Gossip Girl is on my tivo season pass. Entertaining show that has had some ups and downs.
Pretty Little Liars is so absurd but good at the same time. I used to religiously watch Wildfire, which was ABC Family's first original program. It ran for 3 seasons.
Never got into Secret Life or Make or Break It.
i tivo the new 90210 though outside of Liam's hotness, sucks.
Popular was hilarious for it's two season, and well Veronica Mars is an absolute favorite of mine.
ABC Family also has a show on about 10 years ago called State of Grace. Did anyone else watch it? It starred Alia Shawkat from Arrested Development and Dinah Manoff played her mother. Francis McDormand did voice over work, kind of like how The Wonder Years was.

MotorTink, I don't know why, but I LOVE teen shows as well. That and reality TV are my guilty pleasures.
Pretty Little Liars actually scares me, especially when watching it alone in the dark. I know it's nonsense but it seems so real. It doesn't help that I also signed up to receive texts from "A". Haha.
I never got into Make It or Break It, but I've given up on Secret Life. It just became too absurd for me.
Degrassi is awesome. I love it, but even I think it should end. I mean season 11 starts next month. They've been dragging it too long. As long as they make new episodes, I will watch!

doodle, I loved Once and Again! I always considered it to be more of an adult drama, but I can see how teenagers could appreciate it. The young adult roles were written so sensitively. Remember Patrick Dempsey as the brother? Phenomenal in a pre-Grey's role.
I absolutely love Degrassi. I watch every single episode. It is my guilty pleasure.
I also like Make it or Break It. I can't stand Secret Life, but I will watch it to marvel at it's stupidity.
Old shows that I enjoyed were Dawson's Creek, Boy Meets World, Party of Five, the original 90210, Malibu Shores (only lasted one season), and The OC.

I finally watched My So-Called Life on Netflix and it was quite good. It started falling apart with the Halloween and Very Special Homeless Teen Christmas episodes, however.
And now I finally know what the name "Jordan Catalano" means!
I've been watching My So Called Life on IFC. The Halloween episode was on last night and was quite bad.
My old room mate had a huge crush on Jordan Catalano. Jared Leto was hot.
I forgot about freaks and Geeks. I didn't watch it when it was on but rented it and watched it. Great show.

Yes! Love that show! Mae Whitman (Now on Parenthood and also had a guest-spot as George Michael's pro-abstinence girlfriend on AD interestingly enough) played Grace to Alia Shawkat's Hannah. Both were so good in their roles even if the stories and structure of the show was a bit too recycled.

Ahh, I loved State of Grace! Such a funny show! I wonder if the main character ever got with Walker in the end?
There was a WB series called Popular that I watched back when I was younger. But, I think it lasted for two or three seasons.
I've gotten into this new show called Switched At Birth on ABC Family. It's GOOD!
I'm with doodle! I wasn't really into the teen TV shows that were current when I was that age (Facts of Life, etc.). I liked the syndicated shows from 10-20 years earlier, like Partridge Family, Brady Bunch, Leave It To Beaver, etc. Of course there weren't a lot of shows about teens or marketed directly toward teens. There were tons of "family" shows aimed toward youthful audiences, though, but they weren't focused on teen casts. Bewitched, Gilligan, Nanny & the Professor, Genie, Munsters, Batman, Addams Family, etc., all of which I watched regularly in syndication.
Oh, and one "current" show that I was crazy about at the time was the '70s "disco-ish" Mickey Mouse Club, with a pre-Facts Lisa Whelchel and Julie Piekarski (season 1). I dug their leisure-suit Mousketeer costumes and synthy '70s tunes. Of course, watching it now, it's horrendously cheesy, and the production values are laughable. Not that they weren't always, though!

And I loved Patty Duke! Especially since my dad worked on it!
It's interesting to see how many kids got discovered from their work on various incarnations of Mickey Mouse Club.
