"Oh, my memory still savors the richness of his Othello opposite Christopher Plummer's Iago! "
oohh, DP, if only I could have beheld that. I have been in love with Christopher Plummer since elementary school.
I agree with CZJ. And I liked Ewan in Moulin Rouge but I dont know if would like him as just a plain singer--- he kind of sing-yells.
Tom Hulce has a lovely voice. Also, La Streep isn't so bad herself
Hugh Jackman [obviously]
Adam Pascal, who was in School of Rock, namely
Ewan Macgregor

Count me among the Ewan McGregor dissenters. I think his voice is more than servicable but not great.
Or maybe I'm just feeling bitter after sitting through the mess that was Young Adam last night.
Plum, how was Young Adam exactly? My mom won't let me see that one. That and The Pillow Book are the only ones she's not letting me see...

Oh, it's very easy to sum up:
People look glum.
Ewan McGregor has sex.
Rinse and repeat.
Trust me; you're not missing anything.

Not something I should see then? If I were allowed...

The both of them.

Add some kinky calligraphy and experimental camera-work, and you've got The Pillow Book.

Unless you're willing to be bored to tears in exchange for the chance to see McGregor (or Tilda Swinton, or Emily Mortimer) naked, it's not worth watching.
meryl streep (postcards from the edge), amy irving (voice of jesscia rabbit) & zooey deschanel (elf)

That's what Trainspotting is for.
NOT that I recommend that movie. I really didn't like it!
Ewan McGregor, Catherine Zeta Jones, Toni C, Nicole Kidman
Lauren Ambrose is also a classically trained opera singer.
And I don't know if this counts since he's been on Broadway recently, but Randy Harrison from Queer As Folk. Really powerful voice.

No mention of Antonio Banderas, yet, who was so terrific in "Nine?" That's a TOUGH role and he pulled it off quite well.
As for James Earl Jones, I saw and heard him sing MANY years ago (back in the 70s) in a one man show he did about Paul Robeson. Pretty much what you'd expect -- a deep, very resonant basso sound and his pitch was very solid. Not a GREAT singing voice (he was slightly tentative in ways he's not when he speaks), but a very good one and clearly had he ever wanted to take the time to train in that direction he could have really been something as a singer.
Margo, when I did the little (<-) thing, I meant both Catherine Zeta-Jones and Antonio Banderas. Don't know if A) Anyone knew what I intended to do, or B) if anyone could recognize him.

Banderas completely screwed up Al Otro Lado Del Rio at the Oscars. That was not cool.

Sorry, the picture is so small I didn't recognize them.
If you click on it, it expands to its original size.
Definitely agree with Antonio Banderas, maybe Catherine Zeta-Jones... but I love her! I didn't particuarly like anyone's voice in Chicago, but I love her nonetheless.
Anyway, I wanted to add Rosario Dawson, and the cast of Will and Grace.

Aww I liked Trainspotting. I didn't find it to be like what Plum says Young Adam is..Trainspotting had a moral and a story to it. A lesson to be taught.
Sorry for the thread jack. Back on subject.
Catherine Zeta-Jones and Matthew Broderick. Okay Matthew's been on Broadway regurarly but I don't think he's been in a lot of Broadway shows. The only ones I know of are "How to Succeed in Business...", "The Producers" and now "The Odd Couple".

Judy Davis sings AND plays the piano- someone should put her in a film where she has to do both. Either that or she should release a Fleetwood Mac tribute album. Also Cate Blanchett was spotted at an after party at a Karaoke bar in Sydney doing a pretty mean version of "The Lonely Goatheard". This is true.
