Nothing new here. I didn't want to see the movie before and I certainly don't want to see it now.
I just think it's a shame they did this with A SINGLE MAN. I haven't seen the movie, but I do remember seeing trailers for the film and I hadn't known it was a homosexual relationship until I read articles about the movie online.
Only way I would see it is if the homosexual storyline involved Taylor Lautner.

The gay plot is flat-out avoided in the trailer. They even try to make it seem like Bradley Cooper's gay character is romantically interested in Julia Roberts.
How could they do this?????? Well, I say boycott this movie until they show in the trailer how hard-up a gay man who looks like Bradley Cooper can be! And I want to see the ab-tastic stud he will no doubt hook up with (unsexually, of course)at the end of the film.
Viva Garry Marshall!
I doubt a boycott would do anything since evidently they weren't marketing to us anyway. We are a minority after all.
Honestly, finding this out makes me want to see it.

Eric Dane and Bradley Cooper a couple? I will be seeing it as soon as I can illegally download it.
I'd watch it just to see Bradley Cooper make out with a dude.
JG2, please let me know when that is!

Matt,
Have you not seen WET HOT AMERICAN SUMMER?? Not only do you get to see Cooper make out with Michael Ian Black, you get to watch it...how to say this tactfully? Take it like a man. And then they get married.

And you don't have to sit through all of WET HOT - the said scene is nicely captured on YouTube. So I've heard.
I sent an e-mail to Warner Bros.
I really wanted to see this movie until I saw that Jamie Foxx was in it. I just don't care for him anymore. But I thought, "well, I can suffer through him with all of the other stars in the movie". But I also noticed the omission of the gay couple and decided it would be a rental from Netflix.
It's been so long since I saw Wet Hot American Summer, all I remember is Christopher Meloni's ass. I need to watch that movie again.

Sooooo . . . who's on top?
Not much question, to my mind.

Bradley is totally the bottom. I'm pretty sure all Bradleys are.

Bradley claims that it was supposed to be the "reveal" of the film...so it was purposely left out of the trailer...the didnt show Anthony Perkins in a dress in the "Psycho" trailer, right?

Is that REALLY a picture of Bradley Cooper???
That's gayer than anything I ever saw during any of the pool parties at Disney's gay days. And I saw f*cking and k-holes a-plenty.
He looks even gayer here:

Hey...he grew up a few towns over from where I did!
I could care less if they hide the plot. This is a new Julia Roberts movie and I love her more than life itself. I'll be there opening day and probably the day after as well.
As for Cooper, has anyone seen his abs in the new trailer for THE A-TEAM? Holy hell it's a beautiful sight.

Are you guys really getting your tight lacy panties in a twist over this?
That's stupid.
^^^Kind of what I was thinking. The people that are going to see this would care less if the gay storyline was included in the trailer or not. It's not like they cut it from the movie.

The point is, it IS a part of the movie, but obviously not one that the marketers feel is a selling point.
Why? Because it is STILL a 'bad' subject for the masses.
So be it.
But, if you don't understand why it's frustrating to be the excluded part, then you really haven't lived the lives that some here have.
Again, so be it.
But don't stand to the side and condemn what are justifiable emotional responses to the pain that some feel through exclusion.
What exclusion? I'd be pissed off if there weren't gay characters at all, but you know what, there are. There's one gay couple. (You could argue that we all don't look like Eric Dane, but that's a moo point.)
Don't be so righteous and superior. No one involved with the making of this movie has anything to do with the marketing. Blame the company (whichever one it is).
See it. Or don't. I don't really care.

If there weren't any gay characters at all, then that would simply be a reflection of how life can be sometimes - hard to have a reaction to that. But the point is that this one does have a gay storyline that has been consciously whitewashed from the marketing.
And that choice was made because it is still the standard belief - and arguably the reality - that including that detail would have a negative effect on the popularity.
That can be a bitter pill to swallow.

Moo point? Who are you, Joey Tribbiani?
