"Besides, i've never even HEARD of some of the actors someon ementioned:"
And so there isn't implied judment there, that JLo deserves to be on a show about acting over somebody you have never heard of, like a Redgrave, for instance?
NEVER HEARD OF VANESSA REDGRAVE??!!! Good God! I missed that the first time around. She is not just some random obscure actress and it seemed like you were trying to put JLO on a higher level. If you are even slightly interested in theatre or acting (which I think you are) then you should really familierise yourself with GOOD acting. Start renting old movies, learn about theatre history etc.....
Okay, like, let me see if I understand. A lot of you seem to think that if a person hasn't heard of some random person that they haven't been exposed to enough or something. What if a person has seen 17 casts of RENT? I mean, I bet you have never heard of Stacia Jai Mantlebaum who was squeegeeman one night only when the real squeegeeman was sick or something? Why is this Regdravv person more quote unquote important you are all so closed minded. AND RENT IS NOT ABOUT TO CLOSE.
Now that Jel-Lo has made it to Inside the Actor's Studio, she is the obvious choice for Eliza in a My Fair Lady revival. It's nice to see that IAS non longer discriminates against pop celebs that cross over into acting with no experience, training or talent. After all, it was designed to teach graduate students at one of the formerly most resepecedt acting programs in the country. I'm sure Redgrave, Streep, Field, Winters, Lange, Close, Hunter and others are thrilled to know that they are now on equal footing with Jel-Lo in terms of respect from the institution that used to care about its craft.

Ah yes! Thanks for reminding me, voiceanth. Do you think they'll update the score, or keep the amazingly dated original orchestrations? As for me, I wouldn't change a note! Jel-Lo was born to do that show.

So, how long until Jen is reviving WSS? (for PrincessMimi...WSS means West Side Story). I know, it's not Rent; but it is a classic.
They should have a special 2 hour episode of ITAS with all of the Redgrave women. (Yes Mimi, there are more of them...not just Vanessa) *Bonus points and get your credibility back if you can name them*

JLo Curses and Tells If Jennifer Lopez was nervous before taping her segment for Bravo's "Inside the Actor's Studio" Monday night, she didn't let it show. In fact, the megastar seemed completely at ease as host James Lipton peppered her with his customary questions, even letting an expletive fly, reports the New York Daily News.
When asked her favorite curse word, Jen immediately exclaimed, "[Bleeping] whore!" On the horror that was "Gigli," she confessed, "I can do better than that," and said the words she hopes to hear from God when she arrives in heaven are, "Nice going, you did your best," along with, "There are no paparazzi here."
Lopez was reportedly accompanied to the taping by her mother, Guadalupe ("My mom, the millionaire," joked Jen of her jackpot-winning parent), and Marc Anthony, whom she told the crowd was "the most talented singer in the world." While the duo still publicly denies romance rumors, the News says they looked quite cozy at a post-taping dinner at Cipriani.
I always wonder if this is an American phenomenon or does it occur elsewhere-when you can be wildly rich and famous by having not a shred of talent. Hmmmm?
My one encounter with the down to earthJenny from the block has left my opinion of her tainted.
I happened to be staying in the same hotel in NYC as she was a few years back. She was still dating Puffy and was in twon to host SNL. I arrived back at the hotel late Saturday/Sunday morning at the same time she and Puffy were coming back. I walked into teh lobby and was stopped by hotel security and her and Puffys body guards and told to wait about 15 feet from the elevators while Miss Jlo and her entourage were escorted to the elevator bank, all of which were stopped at the lobby and at her disposal, until she had gotten on and they got word that she was safely upstairs. I was more than a little bit peeved at the treatment. Hoenstly, I felt more afraid of possibly getting into an elevator with that group than they should have felt about getting into one with me. I somehow think it had more to do with teh diva not wanting to be stuck in an enclosed space with commoners.
I don't need the big gold pieces and diamonds to look interesting.I can't complain too much though because she got me some nice freebies....a bottle of wine sent to my room, a nice platter of snacks and pasteries, all because I bitched out the hotel manager about the inconvenience (in a nice way, of course).
Well, there is a slight difference between complaining to a hotel manager when you, as a paying guest, have been inconvenienced and coming onto a message board to berate people for what sometimes seems no apparent reason. (rolls eyes over the simple difference being lost)
First of all, a big *wow* to Mimichica, secondly, I said this on the main board a long time ago but I'll say it here again, since it applies.
Jennifer Lopez is absolute, irrefutable proof that the devil does, in fact, exist and you can, if fact, sell your soul to be famous. What more proof does one need? That and the fact that her MOTHER won 2 and a half MILLION dollars last week. Need i say more? And Lipton, he's like the Reidel of that world, just plain desperate for fame.
