Really? I absolutely, without-a-doubt thought that's what Rita was implying. Of course it's the farthest thing from the truth, but I definitely wouldn't put it past Rowling to have Rita slander Dumbledore in that fashion. And that's fine -- the willingness to go there is part of what makes the series so interesting.
I thought she was implying something "improper" between Harry and Dumbledore too. Maybe it's just because I'm a teacher, and we're constantly being reminded about not spending too much time alone with students and behaving in nothing but the most professional of manners, even when you're not doing anything suspicious or wrong. Unfortunately, society often sees any mentor type of relationship between an adult and child or teen in an unflattering light.
Okay Okay I know I am nearly a year behind everyone else. I wanted to re-read the series before I began the last book. Life kept happening week after week, and this past week thanks to spring break I sat down and read the Deathly Hallows from cover to cover.
People have pretty much said my same thoughts, the saddest death I thought by far was Dobby, but Kreacher along with the other house elves kicking ass was nice pay back.
Mrs. Weasley by far had the best line in the novel.
The previous mention of Snape being a sort of Eponine in the Harry Potter is truly sad, he did kind of become attached to Harry in his own way also though.
My only dissapointment with the ending, as soon as I put it down was hey, where the heck is Luna?? Thanks to the interview with J.K. she was explained, but it would have been nice to have one of the coolest characters in the series to have a nice wrap up. It sounds corny but I was hoping for either a Luna and Dean hook-up or a Luna and Neville hook-up. Luna would have also made a great divination professlor ala Trelawney also.
