ooooh...I love that Paper Bag song -she's frickin' incredible. That video on her website of her first composition when she's a little kid just amazes me.

I'm a big Fiona fan. My personal favorite song is "Carrion".

re: Fiona Apple

Carrion is one of the best songs written in 20 years!

re: Fiona Apple

I love Never is a Promise. It is such an emotionally charged song. I made the mistake of getting this cd the night I found out my boyfriend had been cheating on me. That song struck home and I was crying like a baby.

re: Fiona Apple

Yeah, Carrion is a fantastic song.

There really isn't a bad song on "Tidal".

"When the Pawn" was actually a really good follow up as well. "Paper Bag" is great and the video by Paul Thomas Anderson is top notch. I am also a fan of "Fast as you Can".

I cannot wait until October 4th when "Extraordinary Machine" is released.

re: Fiona Apple

I have been reluctant to say this, but I know that it is true, so I will:

This upcoming album (even the early recordings that floated around the inet) is the most encouraging thing I've seen from a top 40 musician in decades. It is actually furthering the form, and I dig it dig it dig it!!!!!!!

I've heard most of the leaked version and I think it is some of her best work to date.

re: Fiona Apple

Oh yeah, I heard the leaked Extraordinary Machine as well, and it really sounded great.

Do you remember:

"If you critics - f******* critics write at thing about me - I'll KILL YOU!!

Holy god!

She kept complaining about the sound by her monitor..I was by the soundboard - the sound guy kept looking like she was nuts..his signals were fine!

Are you following me!!

re: Fiona Apple

Awww...she is one of those who is too talented for her own good...she always expects perfection, and some venues just cant give ya that.

Well, I still love her crazy ass.

re: Fiona Apple

It was the most unprofessional thing I had ever seen and I adored her!!! and the sound tape shows her ON PITCH and IN TUNE -

"I can not F******* hear myself - FIX THIS!!! FIX THIS!! (starts crying)Youf**********fu****** don't you writethis..."

walks off -

never comes back!

I know the term meltdown is used on this board a lot but THAT was a meltdown!

Wait till you hear the title track of Extraordinary Machine, if you haven't heard it already. It's like Rosemary Clooney on acid (and I mean that as a compliment). I love that song.
