I would pay so much money to hear Cyndi interpolate a bit of "Girl Gone Wild" into "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun," and maybe follow that up with a cover of "She's Not Me."

Of course she is trying to stay relevant, she is a pop star. Lauper did not choose to become non mainstream, her fan base fell away. Cher doing Believe etc was not her trying to stay relevant? as if. If her crime is trying to stay relevant then so be it. Also i would not really say this tour is a desperate showing of her staying relevant considering its very retro apart from the unique stage design (which even the biggest hater has to admnit is pretty bloody impressive.

Oh and Namo, is Girl Gone Wild the same as Girl's Just Wanna Have Fun because a line is bit similar? That is without doubt another chapter in the 'idiotic things Namo say's to try and sound like he has his own opinions and points'

Namo, i am friends with Norton (through a cast member) and he says things to stir up trouble. Norton is a HUGE Madonna fan and going to watch her this year with said friend/cast member. He asked Madonna many times to appear on his show and he could never get her so started playing up to the press, the moment he landed her he was over the moon.

Oh and if anyone thinks this looks 'boring' then i would love to see what you consider exciting. I think this is one of the best opening to one of her shows since Blonde Ambition, probably better. However i am sure the haters will hate it, because it's the thing to do.

Dude, chill. You don't have to get all freaked out and defend everything people don't like. Madonna rubs a lot of people the wrong way. You love her. We get it. Others can state an opinion.
Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

Opinions are fine, when they are based on something. I think she is a terrible actress, i think her voice is weak, i think she contradicts herself a lot, i think she can be to distant etc, it's not like i worship everything she does, the woamn has flaws, but when someone like Namo get's his opinion from a headline about her that he read (she sounds un engaged on the new single, which Namo turned to whole album) or just talks utter rubbish for the sake of talking (prop microphone when clearly she is singing live) well that bugs me. My thing is i never understand (especially with Namo which is borderline obsession) why anyone bothers coming in to threads to bitch about someone they don't like. I never click on threads about someone i don't like or have no interest in, what is the point? i have better things to do.

Anything a Madonna fan posts positive it's only a matter of time before Namo enters with opinions what apparently 'everyone thinks', it's stupid.

Get out more i say, rather than devoting so much time chatting about something or someone you don't like. Leave threads like this to the people who actually enjoy the shows, her as an artist etc.

And yet and yet you urged me to click on more links to learn she's singing live. You send mixed messages more often than my ex-boyfriend!

I've told you about how I thought she sounded photo-shopped into the new songs since you posted the snippet links. I used to love her, of COURSE I can hear when she phones it in. I'm not taking my opinions from others.

However, you keep telling me I'm the only one who thinks she's coasting on sub-par product. Yet, you're saying looking at her critically is bandwagon- jumping, the "thing to do."

You do not look at her critically, let's recall you said "WE" "looks great!! Um, no.

Also, being psyched to get her on his shown and adoring her, doesn't make the "grim determination" line any less true. It's you, sandal, who seem to demand an either/or where none is necessary.

I enjoyed W.E but also think it was very uneven and should have lost the modern day story. And the film did LOOK great, i will stick to my opinions sweetie, i don't get them from headlines.

Also you can't 'photo shop' singing lol

I think on Girl Gone Wild she did sound a bit middle of the road, however that's the only song i would agree she does. And from all reports the MDNA Tour is one of her best, so that most certainly is not sub par.

Yes, I know, I used "photoshop" metaphorically as she is like the subject of a photo who has been edited into a background she wasn't actually a part of. I thought you could make the leap with me since you had no trouble when I used "decoupaged" yesterday.

I guess I will take your word that, upon seeing the trailer you posted here that the movie "looks great," you were speaking strictly of the visuals and not suspending your critical faculties about the wonan's product, as per usual.

From The Hollywood Reporter review:

"And to her credit, Madonna’s vocals, like her physique, were also in tip-top shape. Unlike many of today’s multiplatinum pop acts (your Britney Spears or Rihanna), the performance employed only minimal lip-synching, most evident during the closing number “Celebration.” Indeed, the show’s highlight was a dramatically slowed-down rendition of one of her biggest hits, “Like a Virgin,” which Madonna delivered in waltz form while slinking on the floor, letting her voice fill the ginormous open-air space with the vitality of a singer at the top of her game."

For my money, I don't think she'll ever equal the elegance, sleekness and sophistication of the Confessions tour, but I'll still probably pick up tickets for one of the LA gigs. That being said, those moving cubes during Girl Gone Wild? Pretty damn cool.

Ageism -- especially against female artists -- always makes me cringe, but there's something rather depressing about a tired looking post menopausal woman in a cheerleader's outfit. But then you see her in the updated Jean Paul Gautier outfit for 'Vogue' and she looks wonderful -- sophisticated -- like a grown woman. Speaking of which, so glad she's singing a straightforward version of 'Vogue', but it's kind of sad that she ends the song on a whimper.

Is 'Turn Up the Radio' really going to be a single? It's a shame that 'I'm Addicted' didn't make the cut. I think it's the albums high point. It's one of the few songs on the album in which she sounds like, well, an adult and not like she's trying to sound like someone else.

The people claiming that she is using the tour to promote the CD have it ass backwards. The CD was, simply put, a hastily assembled promotional vehicle FOR her tour and 100+ endorsement deals. Not a complaint, mind you. It's smart business in the current music industry and for a pop singer of her age. Clearly, it worked.

I was trying to figure out what the goal was since issues like what the next single is going to be are moot.
