She sounds in good voice. This tour is going to be epic. She's pulling out all the stops and I believe she's about the rake in the dough.

I understand she's filming a video for "Turn Up the Radio" in June and "Gang Bang" is expected to be released later this summer. Don't think anyone should count the lady out.

*** ADDED***

This of course will be the "controversy of the show... If there were any doubts that Lady Gaga's Born This Way fits nicely inside Madonna's EXPRESS YOURSELF, M is putting the matter to bed... CHECK IT OUT.

Ditching Jamie King seemed to be a good idea--while I kinda agree that the gun theme seems tired, the photos at least look far more interesting than her tacky Sticky and Sweet tour did.

From Wiki: It was reported that talk-show host Conan O'Brien would be shooting a documentary special of the first concert in Tel Aviv. The special will feature backstage interviews along with four performances from the show. Joining O'Brien are Natalie Portman and Sacha Baron Cohen. There is no date as to when the special will air

Random--if true.

I like the set list a lot apart from Candy Shop and Like a Virgin. Would have liked to have seen Love Spent, Dress You Up and Rescue Me in. Glad Ray of Light, Music and Holiday are gone
Namo i love u but we get it already....you don't like Madonna

Am I counting 8 tracks from the most recent flop album? From what standpoint does that make sense? I think it was a mistake to drop "Ray of Light" since we now know it was her final moment of greatness. It makes sense she dropped "Holiday." You could tell she resented how much her fans loved it more than any of her new material at least through the Confessions tour.

It must be awful to be locked into essentially an iron-clad setlist. My favorite post-punk band has never played the same set twice. It must be really satisfying for musicians to have breathing room.

I can't believe she's ending with Celebration. One of her most forgetful songs. I really like MOST of the songs she chose from the new album. But I'm surprised she left off Love Spent. It's become one of my favorites.

I've never heard "Celebration," is it safe to guess it's a "Holiday" knock-off anyway?

Thanks for posting the link to the set list Erik. I like the set list. I understand she has a new cd to promote and the set list is predominately new songs but I sure would like to see more of the classics!

Namo are you kidding? i hate when you as a smart person says the most STUPID things. Why is she doing so many songs from MDNA? Erm because it's the MDNA Tour that is promoting the album. And AGAIN, if 1 and a half million copies in 8 weeks is a flop then 90 percent of the other artists in the world must be crying in to their corn flakes. Yes the album under performed in the states (though it is coming close to 500 thousand copies in 8 weeks) but this may shock you Namo, their is a whole other world out there where the album has done great. Only the US and the UK (where anyone who lives here in the UK will tell you the release of the album/singles here has been nothing but a mess)the album has underperformed to a degree yet everywhere else its done fine, most places more than fine (multi platinum from Brazil to Russia etc)

I know you like having your digs (because you are borderline stalker obsessed with her) but it's like you read a headline in forbes and take it as fact or a comment on the world sales/reception etc. The US is ONE COUNTRY out of 44 it went to number 1 in.

Plus the promo for this album (as your fave Forbes writer himself even says) has been pretty weak at best, but with a new single due and the tour the album will continue to sell as all of hers do, even albums like American Life, something most albums don't do.

Oh and Namo i remember you trashing Celebration the song when it came out so how have you not heard it?

'I think it was a mistake to drop "Ray of Light" since we now know it was her final moment of greatness'

No Namo, no 'we', you think that, critics adored the Music album and the Confessions album, and as much as it pains you most critics liked MDNA. Again these things are your 'opinions' not everybody's. This is what p****s me off about you, you think YOUR opinion is true and correct for everyone, it's not, and thank god.

Pushdabutton, ever since Blonde Ambition fans have always been saying 'i want more of this' or 'why did she not do this?' but that's the problem when you have an artist who has 100s of songs to pick from. Unlike Namo i think it's great to see the same old songs like Ray of Light, Frozen, Music etc gone. With Papa Don't Preach, Open Your Heart etc then im happy. Why would you want to see someone perform the same songs over and over when they have so many to choose from?

I was going to tell you you're wrong about me making fun of "Celebration," but maybe it's so forgettable I totally forgot about ever hearing it? I remember making fun of some song about a gun, because you linked a clip. But I'll defer to your memory. Either way, it's a substitute "Holiday" remake, right?

Maybe she'll have a totally different playlist for the US leg of the tour because MDNA is dead in the water here. After 9 weeks is it even in the Top 100 Billboard album chart? I knew it was around 81 by week 8, which is HORRIBLE. The few people interested in this music have bought it. I suppose it fits in with her sadistic relationship with her fans that she is going to insist on foisting all those songs on large groups of people who don't want to hear them. But "promoting" the album is a lost cause.

Perhaps she should call this tour M-DNR.

Again Namo, congrats on another stupid comment. The chances are the people going to watch her in the states probably have the album. And i would not write the album off at all yet chart wise in the states. And even if it continued to fall it will easily go past 500 thousand copies, that is nothing to scoff at. Everyone knows Madonna's albums sell for a couple of weeks then fall, it has been like that for decades, she has a loyal fan base and they buy the album straight away.

Namo is this strange stalker you?

Honestly i have seen some strange fans in my time, but you take the cake as strangest non fan ever....honestly, i think it's really strange

I'm not a retired firefighter, though that is my dating pool.

I can tell you right now, it is OVER for MDNA. You can feel free to not face it, and create whatever context you need to make it look perfectly reasonable by comparison, but if Madonna can't crack a million in the States, it's dead. Her career is on the downward side of its bell curve. You'll see it one day when you take off your Madge-colored glasses.

Meanwhile, the new Scissor Sisters album is out. Good, quality music made by people who like making music for people who like listening to music.

Namo her career is not on the slide at all, she is a simply a 53 year old woman who's career is changing. She still has millions of fans but she is a touring act. However unlike other touring acts she can still hit number 1 in 44 countries and by years end will have sold 2 million copies of a barely promoted album.

Look at Lionel Ritchie, he promoted his new album on every show known to man kind and every network ever and made more appearances than the queen and he is on 700k in the US and that is one of the most successful albums in the US this year after Adele. She is heading to 500K and is in the top ten selling albums of the year. Albums don't sell in the units you seem to think anymore unless you are that rare act like Adele. Most of the top ten selling albums of the year so far have averaged around 1.6 million, she is around 1.4 million. Now if thats a flop in your eyes so be it. I say it again, her albums ALWAYS sell in the first few weeks then drop fast. That's why her albums are never in the record books for lasting the longest on the charts. Her kind are all about first impact, the sales are normally high everywhere in the first week (as they were with MDNA around the world) and then start to fall of fast after, that has always been the case with her, even for albums she bent over backwards to promote. The recording industry is dead, 10 years ago it was common for an album to average 8 million worldwide, 5 years ago is it was 4 million, now its between 2 and 3 million. I have no doubt MDNA will hit over 2 million easy. To me that is fine, not mind blowing but fine for a singer in her later years.

You also spent your last post talking about figures and what makes a hit album (over a million in the states apparently) then started talking about Scissor Sisters who cant sell close to 100k in the states and has seen all their albums since their debut one under perform. Where the debut album hit 3 million worldwide many years ago their other albums don't come close to that.

And AGAIN, it's your opinion that Scissor Sisters make music for people who like listening to music, judging by their album sales i guess there aint many of them out there.

Oh and before you start, i love the Scissor Sisters, the UK embraced them in a big way (whilst it took far longer for the US to catch on), however i am not a fan of their new album at all, i also was not a fan of the last album.

The fact that Adele is in a more rarified stratosphere tells you Madonna's trajectory is downward. She used to be the one. Now she's not. So you say she's changing. If only her music and juvenile lyrics reflected that. If only "changing" mean "evolving" for Madonna, rather than "a new selection of younger talent making guest appearances."

It's fine that you can admit she's a touring act, if only she would admit it. If she would, she wouldn't be forcing more than two songs off the album on the paying fans. Although, I can see how she may want to try to get those half-baked songs right, finally. Like U2, who finally admitted they released POP before it was finished, maybe when Madonna finally says so out loud you will see what we have all been telling you since you started posting the "leaked" snippets.

As for the Scissor Sisters, you can tell they were invested in the making of their new CD in just the way most people can tell Madonna was not in hers. I said it long before any of her producers talked about it and before the party lines about how she's too busy to do this, that and the other began being repeated over and over. It sounds like she was decoupaged onto a pre-existing template. The fact that Orbit said so many of the songs she let slip away are going to appear on other artists' recordings soon supports it. This is generic stuff that could be anybody, and soon will be. What's missing on the record is Madonna.

I agree songanddanceman2. Of course she is going to perform most of the songs from MDNA because she is out promoting the new cd. I apologize if you took my comment as criticizing her for not performing her old hits. That was not my intention. I was simply speaking as a long time fan since 1983 and still love all her music. I've have been fortunate enough to attend every one of her tours and even waited first in line in 1985 for 25 hours for tickets to The Virgin Tour. Luckily I was able to buy 10th row seats. Madonna could go on tour and sing anything and I would be there! To this day she still remains my favorite artist and I love reading your posts about her on this message board. I can sense you share the same passion for her talent as I do!
