I do have a few theater lovers in the making. I'm not trying to encourage that at all.

Stanley will be on his way back to you in a day or two. I'm taking the pictures to be developed today.
Stanley had a great time with the cast of NINE....in fact...I think the girls liked him better than Guido! I'll send all the pictures, although, some of them may not be exactly appropriate for kindergarten.......but Stanley got to wear a boa, a colonial wig, and be kissed by a few attractive women!

Yesterday, on my day off, Stanley took a trip in my car....
And we went to the Shubert.... (amongst other places)

Want one from DC?
Instead of sending them in the mail, why don't you just scan them and send them in an email? We can cut them out and then send them back to you.
A click for life.

Posted: 10/10/06 at 7:59pmSo yet again my job messes things up. The last bunch of Flat Stanleys that were meant to go out from the office were sent back to me because the office forgot to put stamps on them. *shakes head* So I used my own stamps again and am putting them in the mail as soon as I hit "post message".

Posted: 10/10/06 at 8:15pmwell that explains it

Posted: 10/10/06 at 8:21pmGreat! The one I printed off the website looks kinda crappy. I will be up at NBC later on in the week.

Posted: 10/10/06 at 9:12pmI am so sorry it is taking so long to get these to some of you. I promise it is not intentional and I really do appreciate you taking time out of your lives to help me with this.

Stanley was waiting for me on his luggage in the lobby of my building when I arrived home from work tonight. Here he is, enjoying a Root Beer on the balcony as the sun sets on San Francisco.

Bump!
Stanley arrived just minutes ago (thanks, Anakela!) and I'll be cooking up some things for us to do. I think a trip to see the CO Symphony Orchestra might be on the agenda...

Posted: 10/12/06 at 10:05pmGlad he got there! I got a wonderful package today from a certain someone in NYC (Thanks Anakela!). My students loved the book and brochures. I had to go make copies of them because they all wanted to take the brochures home. Especially the Tarzan and Beast boat tours ones. They like Tarzan because it is Tarzan, and the Beast had a bite mark in it. You should have seen the looks on their faces. It was priceless. You guys are the best for helping us with this project!

Aww, you're totally welcome. I pass by that tourist kiosk all the time, it just seemed like coming back with some brochures was something that Stanley would do.
And the Beast boat tour one is totally my fav because it has a bite out of it too. :)

Posted: 10/13/06 at 1:21pmI hope Kel can post more of these at some point - I love it!

I think Kel is gonna have a whole bunch of future theater devotees in her hands soon.
Flat Stanley assisted with the stage managing duties of "Love, Sex, and the I.R.S."... (I'm sure Kel will have to change the name of the show)

"Love, Sex, and the I.R.S." or "How to avoid paying your taxes wihtout going to jail!"?
I will try to make a website with all of Stanley's journeys and post it on here once I get everything in. At this point I don't even know where all Stanley's have been or are going because people have been PMing me saying that they are printing one off to take with them. I can't believe the response this has gotten. I am truly humbled by all of the help I have received from this board. Thank you all!

Stanley arrived here in DC today. My dad is laughing his ass off at him. I think he's cute, though.
#93re: I need some help
Posted: 10/13/06 at 7:19pmYou probably got one of the really scribbly ones. I can't remember who got which Stanley at this point. They all turned out cute. They were very representative of the personalities of the kids that colored them.
#94re: I need some help
Posted: 10/13/06 at 7:21pmHe's actually very well colored. The purple tie is very snazzy. My dad just has a bad sense of humor.

Posted: 10/14/06 at 8:21pmI got another Flat Stanley sent back "home". Thank you so much DG! The pictures are great!

Glad he got back home. And really, when you take him to Disneyland, it would be hard for the pics to be bad! I hope Stanley's friend is happy about where he got to go

The Stanley you had was made by an aspiring Disney Princess- she will be THRILLED!
So I REALLY need to thank you guys for all your help. Because of this project and how well it has gone (along with other stuff I have been doing at work) I got a raise. Yay me! (and you guys!)

Well, THAT made my night! Although, some of us are already full-blown Disney Queens
And congrats on the raise! More teachers should get them - but we won't get into that now . . .

Well if it makes you feel any better I'm not a "real" teacher with these kids. I am their group leader in an after school program. So I'm their teacher, but I'm not paid as a teacher. Thus I can get a raise in the middle of a school year.
That girl is going to grow up to be a princess if it kills her. At least that is what she says on an almost daily basis. She is too cute.
