What are you sorry to hear? I think that woman would benefit from a bunch of gaywads holding her down and applying her makeup correctly and showing her how to dress.

Some right wing radio talk show asswipe was on TV last night, claiming "While all gays are not pedophiles, it's true that nearly all pedophiles are gay."
I guess he's never seen "To Catch A Predator" on NBC, in which literaly hundreds of men have made dates over the internet to have sex with (what they thought were) underage GIRLS.

But...but but but!!!! Homosexuality is THE big evil in our world! They must all be gay!

bway, I can't watch the news right now, but do you remember the name of the woman on Fox? That would be immensely helpful in my paper.
Anyway, I've always been under the impression that a majority of pedophiles were out to catch young girls. Go figure.

I'm only partially kidding, SM2.
Calvin, no, it wasn't the San Fran lady, she's a bit older, isn't she? This woman was mousy, which is the only word I can use to describe her. I'll see if I can find out who she was...

"There's a complete c**t on Fox News right now who dared to just say that she wants to see on homosexual in politics without being a sexual predator."
Maybe Barney Frank could sue her. *wonders*

This is the San Fran lady...Debra Saunders. A wannabe Coulter.
eta: Oh MrMidwest, believe me, they're already bringing up the Barney Frank story from 20-something years ago...

Whoops. While it looks like her, this woman had mouse-brown, lank hair. And she was somewhat smaller.
Oh, and Mrmidwest, she brought up Barney Frank. There was a heated exchange with the Democratic pundit (thank god he got animated when she started pulling the gay thing in) and he offered up Barney Frank in response to her depraved faggot comment and she said, "well, he's had his share of scandal in that regard, too."
Anyone know if it's true or if she's engaging in that popular sport of tossing out a nice fat lie and seeing if it'll stick in the minds of people too dumb to know the difference?

Posted: 10/2/06 at 10:53amThe Barney Frank thing had something to do with an associate running a prostitution ring out of his house. I don't really remember the details, but it was sometime in the 80s.

What scandal was Frank involved in? I've never heard about that for some reason.
Also, that woman might want to look up the definition of the word pedophile. Being attracted to a 16 year old or a 17 year old doesn't make someone one. It can be illegal if they cross the line depending on what state they're in, but it still doesn't make them a pedophile.

Here's a link. I'm not familiar with this site, but it seems to be bi-partisan (it has a section on DeLay, too).

Question, though regarding Studds, since I can't find this info right now: was it in a city with a minor age at 17 or under? Because part of what they're discussing right now in the Foley case (I'm sure it'll come up again and again) is that age of consent is 16 in D.C.

bway, I found this on Wikipedia:
"Studds is remembered chiefly for his role in the 1983 Congressional page sex scandal, when he and Representative Dan Crane were censured by the House of Representatives for separate sexual relationships with a minor – in Studds's case, a 1973 relationship with a 17-year-old male congressional page. The relationship was consensual, but violated age of consent laws and presented ethical concerns relating to working relationships with subordinates."
FYI: He was serving as Democratic Congressman for Massachusetts.
ETA: In MA, if a minor 16 or 17 years of age is a virgin, sex is illegal (Chapter 272: Section 4. Inducing person under 18 to have sexual intercourse).

I'm guessing the page wasn't a virgin? I don't know. I'll get back to you on that.

What are the stats on pedophiles? I would imagine it would probably be the same bell curve as regular sexuality. I've heard pedophile is a white stereotype though as racist as that sounds.
This seems like a textbook case though. From those IMs, it feels like he was baiting the kid. I wonder why the media isn't clamoring for him to be in jail right now? Is he free on bail? Where is the warrant? There is obviously more than enough evidence. Jacko was arrested on less, and his house was ransacked.
#69bringin' down the house!
Posted: 10/2/06 at 11:23amPedophilia is independent of sexuality. Very few pedophiles who sexually abuse male children identify as gay. It's more of a domination/control situation and doesn't relate to whether one is attracted to males or females.

Posted: 10/2/06 at 11:30amdepends, sm2. yes, the age of consent in dc is 16. but if these ims were sent to the kid in fl, i think it's a different story. fl's age of consent is 16 only if the other person in the scenario is 24 or under. other than that, it's 18. so it probably depends on where the emails and ims were being sent whether this can be a criminal case.

Good to know. I really hope this doesn't get ugly for gays. Mcgreedy has already done enough for us in 2006.
But really,,, does rehab give pause to an impending arrest? I don't understand why he hasn't been cuffed. Am I missing something here? How much more evidence do they need? Anyone know? What county does he live in? I should call the DA. Maybe it's federal cause it was done via the internet. I wish I knew more about law.

#74Tony Snow: "Simply Naughty E-Mails"!

LOL! He calls them "Simply Naughty E-Mails"!
From Today's Broadcast of CNN's American Morning:
O'BRIEN: With Republicans dealing with the Mark Foley scandal and an unflattering book from Bob Woodward, there's certainly a lot to talk about with the White House press secretary, Tony Snow. He joins us from the White House this morning. It's nice to see you, Tony. Thanks for talking with us.
TONY SNOW, WHITE HOUSE PRESS SECRETARY: Good to see you Soledad, thanks.
-----
O'BRIEN: I would assume everybody would want to know, including the president. I mean we're not talking about any old person, we're talking about the leadership of the Republicans in Congress. Why would he not hear something that's disturbing or his office? Over- friendly, when I see that word as a parent and I think any parent would say whoa, over-friendly? Any communication between a 16-year-old and a congressman why doesn't that raise red flags, major, massive red flags?
SNOW: Look, I hate to tell you, but it's not always pretty up there on Capitol Hill and there have been other scandals as you know that have been more than simply naughty e-mails. You know look, again, I'll reiterate my point. I think it's important to protect these kids and make sure that they have a good experience and like you, I want to find out what happened. But before we prosecute let's figure out what all the facts are. That's probably the most important thing to do is to be fair to all parties.
