I never want to read Sylvia Plath poetry ever again.
Speaking of Sylvia Plath, I have to finish The Bell Jar by Tuesday.
I just learned that there is a type of gorilla classified as a "gorilla gorilla gorilla". Seems a bit redundant to me.

I'm not a poetry fan, but I think Plath is amazing. What poems did you have to read, Mandi?
Rogue, that's one of my favorite books. I wrote a long paper on it junior year - it was an interesting exercise of comparing the author's life to the book you chose to read. Since it's essentially autobiographical, it wasn't too hard.
Speaking of long papers, I'm on page six of an eight-page paper.
I'm liking it so far, though I'm only 2 or 3 chapters into it. I think I'm going to have to write a paper comparing/contrasting it to Hamlet.
I'm writing an essay in French about why my friend should come visit me in Australia.
The poems aren't bad or anything, I just hate analyzing them and then having to write 5 pages about the use of sound devices, or ocean imagery.
I miss taking French.
That could be a really good paper, Rogue, since Hamlet was one of the first literary creations to display the kind of self-consciousness and self-analysis that was carried to an extreme by modern writers like Plath.
Emcee, I hope you can take a nap or something. I'm a big believer in the healing power of sleep.

I understand. I had to write a five-page paper on Lady Lazarus a couple weeks ago and have to write one about Daddy in a few days.

Chloe, I'd have to agree. I went to bed feeling absolutely awful. And while the emotional stuff is still here this morning, it wasn't making me sick like it did last night.
I have such weird dreams. I should probably be studied or something.
I'm glad you're feeling a little better today, skittles. I just recently saw something about how a full night's sleep is needed to process the previous day's events. It's a kind of learning experience, and if we're not able to assimilate what we've gone through, it's all the harder to function well the next day.
Your dreams sound very interesting!

My mom's really sick, and is at the emergency room with my grandma because at one point, she had a lot of trouble breathing. *sigh* What a day.

And if you need to talk about whatever, just IM me or something. I haven't seen you online lately did you get a new screen name?
Chloe, you have no idea. Last night's involved a certain Broadway actor who was the king in medieval England and I was a member of the court. Yeaaah.
I hope your mom feels better soon, gav.

i'm almost 40 & im still thinking in terms of "...when i grow up, im gonna..."
I'm sorry about your mom, gavrochegirl.
Skittles, I'm guessing you hope this certain actor will become the king of Broadway, so your dream makes a certain kind of sense. How were you feeling during it?

I'm not entirely sure it's appropriate for her to answer that question!
Whoops, you may be right. I mostly feel anxious during my dreams, but I shouldn't project.
I have too much sh*t on my desk.
I'm not being productive at all, and I don't really have time to be futzing around.
Ooh, I'm taking dream interpretation. Let's see, we just started Jung, so I'd just hafta give you the Freudian interpretation...
He says that kings and queens represent the dreamer's parents. Maybe you want this Broadway actor to be your daddy...of course that phrase can have a couple of meanings :-P
Eh, the Freudian interpretation doesn't get to be really fun until you tell me more props/accessories involved...steps, ladders, umbrellas, neckties, hats, even hands and eyes in Freud's world can all represent sexual organs. Gotta love good old Freud.
I'm sure Chloe's interpretation is much more right on Besides, both Freud and Jung agree that every dream is a wish-fulfilment...
I need to stop going shopping.
