French AIDS

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

Holy f***!

I'm just going to pop out to bleach my eyes out.

The rain we knew is a thing of the past -
deep-delving, dark, deliberate you would say
browsing on spire and bogland; but today
our sky-blue slates are steaming in the sun,
our yachts tinkling and dancing in the bay
like racehorses. We contemplate at last
shining windows, a future forbidden to no one.

I agree, what does it have to do with AIDS?
Is AIDS a pest-infestation over there?
Leave it to the French.

The thingy at the bottom says something to the effect of "protect yourself use a condom".

Those cray-zee French! Always having sex with giant insects every time they go to Restoration Hardware.

Again... not sure they are effective. All I see is people having sex with arachnids.

Now I'm even more scared of it.

are you freaking serious? The message is loud and clear.....AIDS can kill, unprotected sex can kill, as can certain scorpians and spiders.....am I the ONLY one that gets this. How can anyone NOT get this?

I'm with Elphaba. I think they definitely catch your attention, scare you, and get the message across quite effectively.

I think they dehumanize people living with HIV/AIDS. Comparing someone who has HIV to a scorpion is just absurd.

I understand that's not the intent of the ad-maker, but it is the effect.

I do not think they are comparing a person with AIDS to a scorpion, but rather they are comparing the virus itself, metaphorically, to a scorpion.

Difficult to jusdge, though, still.

It's the fear factor, that's what it's really about.

And bsides, where is anyone going to find a condom big enough for that spider in the first one anyway?!
