A certain someone mentioned turning 30, well if hadn't shared that info. I would've thought you were turning three.

Right, because I am the one making the ludicrous statements and not backing them up. I notice most of your posts include very creative uses of punctuation... and spelling... and grammar.

Pretty pretty please don't you ever ever feel like you're less than f**ckin' perfect!

I would like to share a story with you all. Lets get in the way back machine and go back to when Magnum was 12 years old and in Roman Catholic Religion Class. Somehow in a discussion in class the topics of gay people got brought up and everyone was talking about how it was "Icky" and "A Sin" so Carl looked up at the teacher and said "Why is being gay a sin?" The teacher paused and paused and then said....."Well being gay isn't a sin but pre-marital sex is, and so that act makes it a sin" and then I said, "Well then why not let them get married so they won't be sinners anymore?".....................the topic was then dropped and changed.

That being said Fcuk Frist and the republican christian right. May they all have gay children and end up poor and living in the super dome. Those ignorant ass bigots.

I got rid of my teeth at a young age because... I'm straight. Teeth are for gay people. That's why fairies come and get them

OK - Burle, I somehow missed your snarky comment against Jersey in your prior post.

Before, I thought you had balls to at least staying on and defending yourself - but now, nah, just another bigot who resorts to nane calling when he can't logically defend the argument.

You have a right to be a bigot - and, I, have the right to Ignore you. If we tossed everyone off this board for grammer police violations, there were be very few posts indeed.

Jersey - how I wish it was 30 for the next Bday! Have a great one.

JerseyGirl, cool Irish/Cherokee lady, I just read your post about the kind of kid you were and your kiss with Emmy. The way you expressed that memory was beautiful, amazing, touching. You have a lot of talent as a writer, I'm thinking, and the ability to move hearts with words. And thank you for sharing that.

As for turning 30 - 30 is a rosebud with the dew still sparkling on it. Enjoy it completely, you are VERY young!!!

I learned this in Catholic school - "God is love, and he who abides in live abides in God, and God in him."

Here's another one I learned. "In My Father's house are many mansions."

YOU people?

Listen. I try to entertain the notion that because you have every right to your opinion, you should be respected accordingly. But, the truth is--your opinion is one of bigotry. And bigotry is going to encounter no tolerance from some people. US people.

If I had posted that I believe that blacks should still be slaves or that women shouldn't be allowed to vote, what do YOU think would and SHOULD happen?

Once again your missing the point, the reason I believe what I believe about gay marriage is because of my faith ok. I like gay people, I respect them but when it comes to them getting married I disagree. You making the comparison about women not voting and blacks still being slaves is not a good comparison unless you point out in the bible where God deems that wrong. Ok, I'm not a homosexual hater I just disagree with them getting married ok. Sheesh!

"And to answer your other question - marriage is not just about love, it is also about legal rights that accompany the marriage. When two people marry, many federal and state laws change - Gay couples, to the extent possible, have to execute legal documents to make it clear that they are the medical caregiver, that they belong in the room when their partner dies, that they know what medical treatments are desired. They would be entitled to proceeds under pension plans with private companies and social security. They could could receive benefits under a partnership benefit plan, such as medical and life insurance. It is not just the ceremony, but the legal consequences of the ceremony which people need to have."

I understand that there are changes when two people marry. But as far as I know, most people don't marry just for the benefits they receive. They marry someone that they love. People don't marry some random stranger off the street so they can get certain benefits. At least I'd hope not. frist tosses the right wing's salad

I'd type more, but my dog's bugging me. Maybe I'll add some more later.

People used the Bible to justify women not voting and blacks being slaves and then segregated.

You can't hide behind your Bible.

Ok, you know what I give up I'm in the midst of a personal crisis and I just argue anymore.

But I must say this, people who hold up the bible to say mean and stupid things, are just that; stupid and don't understand ok, I think 'Man shall not lay down with another man' is pretty black and white though, but you know what I'm done.

And what you clearly are unaware of is that there are many who believe the Bible has NOT been translated correctly--and that all of the verses that address men with men are NOT about homosexuality.

Also, do YOU follow ANY and ALL of the other laws that are listed with the verse you just paraphrased? No. So, why pick this one out and believe in it?

Sorry, but it's very difficult to respect your opinions--and it sounds like you need to go take care of your dramatic life.

Listen, can we just have a truce. Cause this is so dumb, I don't know why we keep arguing back and forth but I really want it to stop. So please?

So stop. No one is forcing you to post. And, I will not back down on my stance. So, if you are looking for that--too bad. I guess today I don't get the right to live my life and you don't get your peace of mind. Pity.

Guitar, you are right, with regard to marraige truly being about loving someone. But, there are a lot of other real world issues that come with being married, and certain rights granted, that to date, gay couples either are not entitled to, or, have to execute separate legal documents in order to protect.

But, when you have life partners being denied the right to decide health care decisions for their partners, or being banned from the room because they have no right to be there, when you have pensions and annuities not given to the other partner as "surviving spouse" there are negative financial ramifications, there are a lot of things that come with being married - not just the emotional confirmation of the ceremony.
