I think it will do well. It has generated lots of buzz. A lot of people in my school who don't like musicals are so excited for this.

Can anyone here explain what all the hubbub over this show is about? I watched the pilot and didn't like it at all. Aside from the music (which was really well-done) and a couple of the performances (Jane Lynch and Jessalyn Gilsig in particular), I was kind of rolling my eyes the whole times - it just seems like another typical "Lovable losers defy the high school caste system!" show, which I personally can't stand.

So yeah, hopefully someone here can explain what they loved so much about it. I just don't get the Glee love.

VonTussle - it seems pretty obvious that this show just isn't meant for you, if you admit that you simply hate the idea of it. And it also seems obvious that not everyone shares your opinion - I don't think it's any more difficult than that. Simply because something doesn't resonate with you doesn't mean it can't with other people.

I knew I'd watch it just because of Matt, but it has really caught on with me as time has gone on. I hope they keep up the momentum.

I rewatched the pilot last week, and I like it. I think I'll continue to watch it, if there is nothing better competing with it, which I don't think there is. I'm not sure if I really am fond of Lea Michele's character though. She reminds me too much of someone I knew in high school, and it's not a good thing now.

I'm excited about this show. Loved the first episode. It reminds me of ELECTION. Are any of the same people involved? Lea Michele even walks down the hall like Tracy Flick!

In the NY Magazine article BWW posted a link to this morning, Lea mentions how she watched Election as part of her character development.

She, along with most of the kid characters, annoys the crap out of me so far, but I love the adult roles. I'm sure the kids will grow on me, but so far they are not developed enough.
