Remember, networks do this in lieu of running lots of repeats. It's not like the old days and the networks know that no one watches re-runs in the DVR age.
Would it be worse to have one or two new episodes every month but a week or two of repeats in between each new episode like it used to be? Remember there are 22 episodes in a season order, so even allowing for 8 weeks for Summer hiatus, that still leaves 44 weeks left to fill.
I remember back in the days when FRIENDS was hot like GLEE there were never more than 2 or 3 new episodes in a row, and with GLEE we had 5 or 6 new episodes over consecutive weeks. We were spoiled.
It also must be said that HBO pretty much set the precedent for this, as they don't f*ck with their viewers like "free TV" does, and instead air a whole season in a row each week with few if any breaks or re-runs. But HBO seasons are only 10-12 episodes, whereas network tv still does 22 episode orders (13 plus the back nine, which they are filming now).

#632glee!: The Official Love Thread

Imagine was so sweet! I was definitely tearing up. I love that Tina finally got a song. She did so well

Posted: 11/26/09 at 10:14pmI'm going to have to watch this tomorrow. My VCR did a random thing. I set it for Glee last night, and the Macy's Parade today, since I was there and wanted to see what was shown on television as well. The parade taped fine. However, for some odd reason Glee did not, but it picked up early hours of Good Day New York today. Not even in 9am hour, which would equate a goof from me for Glee. I don't know what happened.

I know this isn't the kind of show where you nit-pick holes in the plot, but why doesn't Will just pay the guy for the one mattress?
Otherwise, a solid episode.

Why is everyone so mean to Rachel? Yes, I know she's annoying, but the rest of the Glee kids are just plain awful to her. I feel like I'm the only one rooting for her! Also, I REALLY don't like Mercedes. She's much more of a diva than Rachel. Anyone else feel this way?
GREAT ACTING by Matthew Morrison in the pregnancy scam scene. It was so intense. I can't wait to see what happens next week, but am not excited that it's the "Fall Finale". What the hell is a fall finale anyway??? I'm pretty sure they just made it up. Oh well, I will anxiously waiting for April!

It's high school, and Rachel can be very obnoxious and over the top, at least in my opinion.
I agree, the character of Terri just needs to go away. I feel like besides last night's episode and "Vitamin D," she serves no purpose to the show. And the only reason she served a purpose in "Vitamin D" was because she gave the drugs to the kids. But, very good acting by Matt Morrison in the confrontation scene.
Quinn also surprised me. I hate how she's playing between Puck and Finn. However, I feel more for Finn in that situation because Puck knows, so he's being as deceitful as Quinn is. But, I went to liking Quinn a little bit after her encounter with Sue.

Unfortunantly the writing of this show is still up and down.
Finally some decent acting from the wife. I don't know whether to think she's a good actress with bad material or to think she's not that great of an actress. But when Will left the house, she had a few moments of brilliance. I think her character is difficult because Sue gets all the bitchy lines, the guidance counsellor gets all the "cry on my shoulder" lines and the wife is just left out of any real interaction with Will.
The mattress situation is ridiculous. As Quinn pointed out to Sue, the cheerleaders take freebies all the time. So why does Will have to forego going to competition? Why doesn't he just pay for the used mattress?
How come we see a scene with Will begging his wife for the money to buy a yearbook page and him writing a check, but then that situation has no ending? What happens to the $325? What happens to the quarter page in the yearbook? Why isn't there a fight when the wife finds out he spent the money against her wishes.
I also think that the way Will found out about the fake pregnancy was lame. Her explanation sounded plausible. He should have found out by seeing her step out of the shower or some method that was more real than just going through her undies drawer.
Haven't seen the final episode yet, but I think it's poor writing if Will doesn't get to go to sectionals with the kids. It's just bad writing. All the "I have to set you free" crap shouldn't come in the first season.
As usual, the show rises to its highest potential with the musical numbers.

Posted: 12/3/09 at 10:59amSue was brilliant last night. As was Quinn. I'm so glad she stepped up like that. In the previews for next week's episode, they showed Finn punching someone or something...I'm hoping it's Puck! Not cos I don't love him but cos I'm dying for him to find out he's not the father.

LOVED LOVED LOVED Matt in the confronation scenes!!!!! His face when he looked up in the mirror was probably the sexiest I've ever seen!!!!!!!! And just the aggression and.... ok I will stop now lol :)
Away from that, it was a solid episode. I do not usually like Rachel/Finn moments but the Smile song was cute.
Yay for more digs at Will's hair lol.

Sue was great with the Will hair comments: "I mean today it looks like you just put lard in it". And the eyelift "While they were in there, I told them to take out the tear ducts. Wasn't using them."
And I am beyond thrilled that Will figured out the fake pregnancy. That storyline was the weak link in the show.
