Beautiful. I wish I could have attended. It's important to note for anyone who is interested that there will be a rally tomorrow at 5:30 and a march to the scene where Mark Carson's life was senselessly ended. Let's come out in numbers, in solidarity and show our support for all our gay brothers and sisters that we will NOT be silenced, we will NOT tolerate bigotry and we will NOT cower to HOMOPHOBIA!!!

I have a gay brother (yes, my mother was blessed with two homosexual sons) who lives with his lover in the West Village just off Christopher Street on Greenwich Street. He just called me, we talked for a long time and we had a good cry...we expressed our love for each other and vowed as gay men to stay safe in the face of this senseless tragedy.

I love my brother so much because he's always been such a compassionate person. He said to me: "We didn't know Mark Carson. But I feel like I've lost a friend. He was family. He was OUR gay brother."

We are all "brothers". Let's stay safe, let's stay AWARE.

The gunman is a ****ing bastard.

This fills me with so much anger and sadness and despair.

Prayers for the victim, Mark Carson.

And many prayers for all of humanity, that we can somehow find our way out of this madness.

Elliot Morales is the man that shot Mark Carson. Evidently he laughed and bragged to the police about shooting Carson in the face. He had a previous arrest for attempted murder in 1998 when he was 18.
