Hey YOU brought it up! Sell your boy- Paul Ryan drove the damn weinermobile and had a corrupt Indian gamer and road contractor buy him a congressional seat. He went to mediocre state colleges and smoked pot, coasting through life on favors from William Proxmire and Bob Kasten. Was he sexually servicing these guys? Maybe. He spends an AWFUL lot of time in the gym and brags about his abs. If they hadn't given him this congressional job would he be running his family construction company? Hardly- everyone agrees he was barely smart enough to dig ditches there.

Very, very few people who have run for President or VP have been 'qualified'. Certainly not Obama. Or Romney, or Ryan. Both McCain and Clinton tried to sink Obama based on his lack of experience, an advantage McCain pissed away by picking Palin.

What's important about this choice isn't Ryan's lack of experience. What's important is that it shifts the focus from the current lackluster state of the economy to Ryan's radical plan, a plan that Romney endorsed and said he would sign if he were president.

This also distracts from the tax return issue, and issue the Dems need to keep active.

There most certainly is a tax return issue. And it is a HUGE issue that is not going to go away. I, like many other middle class taxpayers, want to know what percentage Mitt the Twit paid in taxes on his millions of dollars. I don't think he did any illegal, but I firmly believe that by his refusing to release more returns, he is hiding something that will piss off a majority of people.

There is a Tax Issue problem. People like Goth want to pretend there isn't because they know it is very damaging. Mitt is hiding something from the American people and the same bunch who demanded Obama produce a birth certificate are giving their guy Mitt a free pass. The Romney supporters are all hypocrites.

THE FACT IS, Mitt feels he does not have to play by the same rules as the others. He is above it all and the American people are beginning to see it.

People like Goth are afraid.........and they should be.

Please answer a simple question. Romney provided DECADES of tax returns to McCain in 2008 when he was being vetted for the VP slot, and Romney required similar data from Ryan. Given that, my question is: Why does the American public deserve less disclosure?

And while I may not believe Harry Reid, that doesn't mean there is no issue.

Goth, let's leave aside tax return questions and "how'd Obama get into Harvard" questions, since neither side agrees that they're questions worth asking.

But surely we can agree that "Why would Ryan make a good VP (or, if called upon, a good president)?" is about the most valid question that can be asked about the man.

It was good enough for Hillary Clinton when he ran against her. I won't recreate the long long post I unspooled when Goth first threw out this "$300,000 job she didn't deserve" but here's the short short version:

The right insists Mrs. Obama was given a cushy "no work" job for nefarious reasons- no one can say WHY but we can assume it had something to do with Barack's political career or something.

Except Michelle Obama had a law degree from Harvard and worked at Chicago's top law firm. She left to take a nice job at U of I hospital and worked her way up to a VP position that paid $300K. Her husband was a lawyer and eventually a state senator, but she achieved this great job before he was well known and she quit when he was elected Senator to work on his campaign for president. If Goth wants to explain why this is exactly nefarious he can. He still hasn't said what's good about Paul Ryan's career.
