My mom was taken to the hospital emergency room...she hurt herself. Her fiance just called and said, "Derric...pause...your mom died." I have NEVER felt my stomach feel so empty in my entire life. Of course, the asshole was joking.
Now I am crying like a baby, lol. Give someone you love a hug!

That's terrible about your mother, but thank goodness she's going to be alright. My dad had a life-threatening car accident this year and it really made me appreciate every moment I have with him now. I'll be sure to give him another hug tonight.
... and if someone would have played that trick on me while he was in the hospital... I would have put them in intensive care right next to my dad.

So, so wrong on a couple of different levels. Please tell your mom what he said. She needs to know this.
And as I happen to actually be in Ohio right now, tell me where to find him. I might not be able to actually kick his ass, but I'm fairly sure I could cause him emotional pain.
