Giving away books, movies and windowcards....

Friends,

I'm moving on Sunday -- it all happened very quickly. If you recall, I was dealing with a roommate who was prostituting in the apartment. Long story short, decided to just move on with my life and get a studio. But that means I need to downsize.

I have hundreds of movies, ranging from favorites to obscurities, and even more books. On top of it all, there are tons of windowcards (some in great condition, some beat up, some rare, some signed, some very common) that I'd like to give to a good home as well.

If anyone wants to peruse, drop in, go "shopping", please comment here or shoot me a PM. I'm off the 30th Ave stop in Astoria.

Not asking for money for anything, but just hate to toss it all on the curb. I actually just put a box of books outside with a sign that said "Reading is good for you! Please take some!"...

Jordan, you're welcome to come by tomorrow night (Monday) or any other weeknight this week after 7:00. I'll have a box of "Give Away" stuff that you can just peruse and take what you like! I hate to throw things out.

Shoot me a PM with a time that works for you and I'll send you my info. We can confirm when it gets closer.

P.S. I was never the type to sell memorabilia so my windowcards are not framed. They may have a thumbtack hole, or be a little bent in the corner. If you're a stickler for perfection in that department, it might not be worth your time!

If they're not in pristine condition or if I have them already, some I'll donate to my cousin's drama department. They're always looking for stuff like this to decorate their classroom and I like to give them as much as I can. :)

1) How generous!
2) Instead of trashing unclaimed items, contact Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS and see if you can donate them to this year's Flea Market.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

That's a great idea! Thank you. Would they take them this early? I am moving into a much smaller place, regrettably.

This is so kind of you. Hope everything goes well with the move. I have some Memorial Day fun (NOT ACTUALLY FUN) today but may be interested in swinging by later in the week.

Well, hey. I figure I have had a really rough month living with the hooker, and I might as well start off in my new home with some positive energy and good karma. Not that I believe in any of that **** anyway, but hey -- I'll give it a try. (Anyone got some sage I could burn?)

Definitely check in with me. I can't promise Jordan won't come and take everything tonight. I've made him a box of 15 windowcards (some signed ones, too), some CDs, some Playbills (I think a few might be signed) and a ton of DVDs. If he takes them all, there will probably only be some books left over. But definitely message me and see what's up.

Sorry to hear about your situation iluvtheatertrash. It is very generous of you to be offering this stuff on here to those that may be interested. I use to live in Astoria off that same stop. I loved living in that neighborhood.

Anyway, I do wish you the best of luck in your new place.

Hahaha, okay, Jordan! And thank you, Carlos. SIX MORE DAYS. I just can't wait to be free of it (and turn off his electric! HA!).

Jordan, if you see something still on the walls, assume I'm keeping it or would maybe sell it. I have some rarer windowcards up on the walls, some I'm not willing to part with, but some I might be convinced. I'm not really into the whole selling thing, unless it's something I really love and you want to persuade me.

And it's times like this I particularly hate that my weird account on here won't let me PM people unless they message me first...

Jordan-share the wealth with us. Let me know if you find a Desire Under The Elms windowcard! :)

If I had one, you wouldn't get it. Those abs. My God.

Jordan just took a huge box full of stuff. If I have more, I'll post again and bump this and let you all know. This is just the beginning of a long week - I have a TON of stuff.

If you are a bibliophile, I would encourage you to come and check out my books.
