Macy was nominated for FARGO.
Jennifer Lopez. Did you see her in Angel Eyes? Oscar-worthy from start to finish! And how 'bout The Cell?! What the hell is wrong with the nominating comittee. How can they NOT nominate one of the greatest screen actresses of the 21st century? No, actually one of the greatest actresses ever!? Ugh.
I thought Macy might have been nominated for Fargo, but I couldn't remember...I suppose I could have just looked it up, but...*snicker* Come on!!!

ick...Jim Carrey= no!
but Paul Giamatti- TOTALLY!
Philip Baker Hall in Hard Eight. Sometimes the title of this movie is listed as Sydney.
oh, yes!! I would have nominated Philip Baker Hall for Hard 8 (Sydney) or for Magnolia! He is a GREAT actor!
I would have nominated Carrey for Truman Show, Man on the Moon, and Eternal Sunshine. Maybe even for some of his greatest comedy--I am in the minority prob, but I would have nominated him for Lemony Snicket. I think he's brilliant.
I know he's pretty hit and miss when it comes to the quality of his movies, but I think Matt Dillon has given some great performances over the years. He deserved a nomination for "Drugstore Cowboy" if nothing else (maybe he'll get a supporting nod next year for "Crash"?).

John Turturro and John Goodman should have been nominated for Barton Fink.
Goodman should have won.
Debbi Morgan for Mozelle Batiste Delacroix in EVE'S BAYOU! She should have gotten a Best Supporting nod. That was the best movie of 1997.
MARY-LOUISE PARKER.
I have to put in a special comment for Jennifer Aniston. I know she hasnt been in many movies that people should take seriously and are Oscar worthy but her performance in the phenomenal 'The Good Girl' deserved at LEAST a nod.
I definitely second Ewan!
I second MLP. She will have her day soon enough and so will Paul Giamatti, even though his should have been this year. . .
Wilford Brimley should have been nominated for Abscence of Malice.
I thought John Tuturro was nominated for Quiz Show but I could be wrong.
I agree with Mary Lousie Parker, and I'll add another b-way Mary with 3 name: Mary Stuart Masterson. Both Women could have been nominated for Fried Green Tomatoes and no one would have complained because the noms. would have been deserved.
I think I'll add Christina Ricci. She was TOTALLY overshadowed by Theron in Monster and has turned in great performances(though not necessarily dramas)in Pumpkin and The Opposite of Sex.
Was Jean Simmons never nominated for an Academy Award??????
Simmons was nominated twice. Hamlet and something else. Damned if I can remember.

oh D, you must have been heartbroken to wake up every nomination morning and hear that those actors were not nominated for their great work. It must have affected your college studies.
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!
(please say you will spank me for this post!)
W.C. Fields should have been nominated for David Copperfield.
I third Ewan, I love him, he was great in Moulin Rouge, and Trainspotting.
Christian Bale is awesome.
Paul Giumatti is awesome too.
Christian Bale; for what??????
I agree about Maureen O'Hara
also Rita Hayworth, also I don't think that Myrna Loy was ever nominated, except for the Honorary Oscar that she did receive.

Why Jim Carey? The only thing I enjoy watching him in is "Eternal Sunshine for a Spotless Mind". Everything, and I mean everything, else he's been in has only been good because of the cast (IE, Limney Snickets).
Jessica ALBA!!!
She is so hot she deserves an Oscar!
