I was watching "Rope" the other night, and I have always thought that the apartment in that film was one of the greatest, with the huge window and incredibly long couch, plus the interesting stencil work on the walls. I always wanted a place like the one in that film.
So, lets hear about other great movie apartments, and why you love them...
Andie McDowell's apartment in GREEN CARD is the ultimate New York fantasy apartment.

Rosemary's place is perfect! Doorman, elevator and that great old couple next door to make you smoothies!
What was that movie with Ewan McGregor and Rene Zellweger that was supposed to be like a Doris Day type movie? His apartment was pretty cool!
Michael Douglas/Gwyneth Paltrow's apartment in A Perfect Murder

I liked Gregory Peck's apartment in Roman Holiday.
Something that comes to mind is Harry's new apartment in When Harry Met Sally with the three huge windows facing the street. I am convinced that this actual apartment is on 15th St. & 6th Ave.
Mel Gibson's home in Ransom.
Oh yeah, the apartment in Perfect Murder was awesome!!!
Michael Douglas's home in Wall Street.
Oy, what a film to bring up today~
I also liked Jedd Nelson and Ally Sheedy's apartment in St. Elmo's fire. But I always wanted to live in Georgetown.
I also kinda liked Aidan Quinn's apartment in DESPERATELY SEEKING SUSAN and Nick Nolte's Soho loft in LIFE LESSONS.
Albert Milo's (played by Gary Oldman) apt. in Basquiat.
Jane2 - I can never think about the film Wall Street without conjuring the images of Daryl Hannah's wacky costumes. I burst into a fit of giggles and immediately forget anything else about the film.
Really? I can't even remember one thing she wore. All I remember about her in the film was when she was showing Charlie Sheen around Douglas's home, explaining the art to him. OY, I must have had blinders on!
Watch some of those 1930's movies I adore and you will see apartments to die for. Take any Kay Francis film and just marvel at her spacious rooms, 20 foot ceilings, art deco decor on everything from the mirrors to the doorknobs to the damn ashtrays and you'll see what I mean.
The "Down With Love" apartments (the size of football fields) were the first that came to mind.
They're kind of loosely based on Frank Sinatra's in the Tender Trap (in addition to the Rock and Doris movies) which is another great one!
I was also thinking about Rosemary's apartment in "Rosemary's Baby," but then I remembered about her neighbors...
I haven't seen it in years, but I remember falling in love with James Caan's place in Chapter Two. I think it might be a brownstone. I need to rewatch that movie.
