A favorite of mine is Glenda Jackson's in SUNDAY BLOODY SUNDAY. The big roomy high-ceilinged space, and the loft. (And I actually lived on one similar to that one for a while. on 86th Street...)

The apartment that Lois Lane lived in, with that divine terrace that enabled
" SUPERMAN " to fly in and collect her for their romantic flight into the night sky
while " Can You Read My Mind " played in the back round while they flew.

Jane2 - I think that's the same scene that makes me laugh so hard!

The apartment in Breakfast at Tiffany's. I can only wish to have a bathtub couch.

"You have two kinds of shows on Broadway – revivals and the same kind of musicals over and over again, all spectacles. You get your tickets for The Lion King a year in advance, and essentially a family... pass on to their children the idea that that's what the theater is – a spectacular musical you see once a year, a stage version of a movie. It has nothing to do with theater at all. It has to do with seeing what is familiar.... I don't think the theatre will die per se, but it's never going to be what it was.... It's a tourist attraction." Stephen Sondheim

The flat in Shallow Grave. Love that so much.

I like the apartment in "Gigi" too, even if it's way too much red for me...

re: Greatest movie apartments

And of course, there's the apartment in "The Apartment." Maybe not the greatest, but if this brownstone flat in New York is still $60 a month, I'll take it!

I also remember in the classic movie " The Seven Year Itch " Tom Ewell's
character ( Richard Sherman) lived in a fabulous apartment - - - with
the terrace outside, does anyone else remember it ? Marilyn Monroe lived upstairs
and she was so happy when she found out he had air conditioning !

Just remembered that great apartment in the original movie " The Odd Couple " Updated On: 9/30/08 at 11:13 AM

I just remembered the incredible penthouse apartment that Barbara Stanwyck finally gets in the movie "Babyface" - she with her suitcase full of half a million in jewels and those stunning interiors.

Bette Midler's husband's apartment in "The First Wives Club" is a favorite. It's the one that they are trying to sneak into, and end up on the scaffolding outside.

Thinking about this, most of the apartments used in the Woody Allen movies
are usually great NY apartment too.
Crimes and Misdemeanors
Hannah and her Sisters
Manhattan - - - etc.

Meg Ryan's apartment in You've Got Mail.

Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities no doubt crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day; begin it well and serenely and with too high a spirit to be enbered with your old nonsense. ~ Emerson

I've always had a particular fondness for the apartment in The Goodbye Girl. I was always trying to puzzle out the floor plan, for some reason.
