I went to see some play he did in town years ago. He came out nude and ran around the theater girating his penis. Up and down the aisles he went. Some other porn star called Ryan "something or the other" took over for him when he left.

I don't know the guy at all, and--other than Namo's assertion that he's reputed to be a really nice guy--I've never heard anything about what he's "really" like.

That review of the play, though, sounds very much like what makes the indiegogo site so surreal. It seems like he has an idea--try doing a legit stage play, do a coffee-table book about medical marijuana--and just can't help but pulling out his d**k half way through. Why does he have pictures of penis-shaped buds which he calls "donkey d**cks"? Why does he tell us that the Jeff Stryker dolls are anatomically correct?

He comes across so powerfully as a guy who has allowed his understanding of his own worth be completely defined by one thing--it seems really sad.

He makes a point of saying that he mentions his accomplishments as an adult entertainer only to demonstrate to potential donors that he is a person who has accomplished success in previous endeavors. I got the impression that he wants this project to be taken as something unrelated to and apart from his Adult Film career.

But he still feels compelled to talk about dildos, how big his d**k is, and how anatomically correct his action figure is. If he's trying to broaden his areas of endeavor and accomplishment, I think dildos and c**k size would be among the topics he would refrain from emphasizing.

I'm open to the possibility that I'm forcing this guy into a narrative where he doesn't belong, and it's really not for me use a word like "sad" to describe someone who, as I've said, I don't know at all.

Let me say, rather, that the site gives me an idea for a character study of a former adult entertainer who wants to move beyond being a "porn star" but finds that it isn't the judgement of "others" that stymies him, but his own reluctance/inability to value himself properly as a fully-rounded person after so many years of being defined only by his super-sized junk.
