Every year my friends and I throw a HUGE Halloween party. I've run out of witty, off the cuff, unique costume ideas.
Any suggestions?

Hmmmm-- maybe if we knew a little more about you.
My brother in-law is going to take his brand new baby out trick or treating. The baby is waering a lobster costume. Mom will be dressed as a chef and Dad will be wearing a lobster bib.

That's cute as hell!!
Ok, to sum me up, quirky, fun, outgoing, gay by day and serious corporate computer guy by day. Anything else? LOL

Posted: 9/27/05 at 4:59pmone year I wore an ugly, bright pink dress, and 80's makeup and went as big-titted 1984 Barbie. I think this year I'm going to sport some rock star duds and give myself a hollowed-out look and be a coked out whore.

ah, memories of Halloween in the Castro........best I've ever seen
Cardboard Lincoln Continental, JFK and Jackie, re-enacting the shooting.(WITH secret service)...yes it was tasteless, but it was an amazing set-up
a group of people walking, suddenly stop at the gas station at Castro and Market (well near there)....someone walks out of the group, puts down and turns on a boom bax, and the entire group, IN costume does Michael Jackson's Thriller.......and were perfect at it.
in San Diego, a friend went as an Xmas tree, completely decorated........he'd go around to parties and bars and plug into the power......and light up

I don't have any specific ideas, but think of whether you want to look sexy, or funny, or scary or whatever, what your interests are, what would suit you, etc and maybe you'll come up with something.

(Please use this brilliant costume. I came up with the idea 3 years ago and cannot use it myself, as I am female. I've been trying to convince my guy friends to do it, but they're all too shy.)
Put stamps all over your body and clothing, and go as "a first-class piece of male".
Other ideas:
- Attach metal objects to your clothes and go as a "magnet" (I've done it.)
- Attach pictures of hotties from magazines to your clothes and go as a "babe magnet" (my boyfriend claims he did that one year)
- Attach socks and underwear to your clothes and go as "static cling" (high school friend did that)
- Dress all in pink, put a small table on your head, and go as "a piece of gum (stuck under a table)". (I've done it... very few people got it.)
- Fill a large clear trash bag with purple balloons and go as a "bag of grapes". (I once did it with multi-colored balloons and said "bag of jellybeans")
- My friend Emily says that she's planning on going as a Freudian Slip this year. I'm not positive as to what this will involve, but I have a feeling she'll be wearing a slip with a picture of Sigmund Freud taped to it.
Or, wear normal clothes.
As Wednesday Addams suggested, there are lots of types of people (scary and otherwise) who look just like everyone else:
- homicidal maniac
- pedophile
- closet porn addict
- Opus Dei member
- undercover FBI agent
- a superhero trying to blend in

I feel like Halloween and April Fools Day are holidays made for thespians.
I've had some fun costumes.
1991 - Rainbow
1993 - Yellow Alarm Clock
1995 - Witch Doctor
1997 - Macarena dancer
1998 - Magnet
1999 - Gum Stuck Under a Table
2000 - Bag of Jelly Beans
2001 - Josie Grossie from "Never Been Kissed" (I donned a metallic pink 1980's prom dress from a vintage shop and had a pink scrunchy on my side ponytail)
2002 - One of the VonTrapp Children (I wore a hideous Shirley-Temple-style babydoll jumper made out of yellow and green upholstery fabric that I bought at a second-hand sale)
2003 - Undercover FBI Agent (I was studying in a foreign country where they didn't celebrate Halloween at the time. It was the best I could do)
2004 - Mod Girl
2005 - TBA...

I just figured that mominator meant to type shiRt and forgot a letter.
One year my friend took an old white bunny costume and used a combination of red paint (blood) and black paint (skid marks) to turn it into "Roadkill". I always liked that one.

I have a friend who found great vintage wedding dress for a few dollars and is going as the Corpse Bride.
Flowery...I pretty much love ALL those suggestions...Especially "First class piece of male" and "magnet".

Posted: 9/27/05 at 6:25pmI was at a costume show at a gay club in Houston a few Halloweens ago and one of the contestants came as Sharon Tate. White dress, fake pregnancy bulge and a big knife stuck in her. Really tacky. But I think she won.
