We will certainly have candles lit at home, since today is also my wife's FIFTIETH birthday.
hopefully she, and you, will appreciate all who died so that you could have candles at home.....(I'm a Veteran......hope it doesn't bother you that I'll remember the dead today, and not birthdays)
Thank you Veterans, living and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice!
Here's to all veterans. Even the bitchy ones.

I would appreciate it if as many people as possible could contribute to this thread not only because it's a good thing, but because we don't want to aQQidentally Qause another meltdown this year!
I'll salute my boyfriend later, retired military dude that he is, and we'll keep our fingers crossed that there'll still be some money left when his pension time rolls around.

Let us all remember our veterans, because of them, and our wonderful free
country which allows us to be able to blog with freedom on Broadway World !
They gave their lives for our country and us.
God bless the USA .......
There are many veterans around the world deserving of our honour and respect. Just as there are many soldiers fighting wars they never sought and some who will never get a opportunity to become veterans. I honour the memories of those who fought and died for the many rights and privileges we enjoy.

Your dad had matinee idol looks, misspennywise.
I wish my dad had looked like this:
We honor their service.
And we honor the service Namo will perform later in honor of his bf's service.
My dad was a veteran and my cousin is currently serving our country. Thanks to everyone!
My dad was a paratrooper in WWII. He never talked much about it when I was little.. Or when I was grown for that matter. I wish he did.
Love ya, Dad
My dad was sailing across the Pacific when World War II was called. He wound up being in Japan for two years during the occupation. He kept a journal of sorts and wrote letters back home, many of which I now possess. He was a medic, so while in Japan he cared for Japanese men, women and children who had been injured and so forth during the war.
He loved the Japanese people and caring for them. He told me that, as a culture, they were the kindest and gentlest people he had ever met.
Thank you, Namo. He was a cutie.
This is worthy of an annual bump.
Once again, thank you to all who have served (and are continuing to serve) this nation.

My nephew just returned from Iraq. He will go to Afghanistan next year. Thanks to all veterens! (even E and Q!)
We honor the service of all who served and who currently serve, including those who served in the segregated divisions before 1948 and those who were discharged because they were gay and those who are gay who currently serve in silence.
